Re: Windows XP Setup Characters Incorrect (12 replies, posted in Installation Platforms)
It`s all the way like this(the characters) even when it stops loading drivers and goes to the main menu that it shows the hard drive/partition.
i confirm that the driverpack DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1412115.7z it causing the problem after integrating the older driverpack DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1411031.7z the problem does not occur but in the windows setup between at 37-36 minutes left i got a blue screen BSOD saying about the hard disk stop 0x0000007b anyway this is another thing with the driver
i think the best thing to do is to include only AMD SB7xx & SB8xx textmode driver v3.3.1540.33 for all-any amd masstorage controllers old or new it works with any board i have tried so far,and not so many textmode drivers for many different amd.
like the three musketeers said one for all and all for one!!!
if you cannot do it can you tell me how i can do it myself to delete all the sata amd textmode drivers(except the amd ide ones) from the DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1411031.7z pack and leave only the AMD SB7xx & SB8xx textmode driver v3.3.1540.33 with all the amd hardware id`s connected to this driver only.thanks

That sounds very much like failing graphics hardware.
Check with Misha Cherkes' Video Memory Stress Test, linked in my signature &/or the Windows version, available at his home page.

no graphic falling i mean it wrong probably i had this error before and i fix it but i dont remember how its the font in the main screen of the windows xp setup blue screen they are displaying incorrect the letters like its missing the greek font or something.
this is what i mean go here to see the photo

Thanks for the reply,i have the KB2981580 but not the other one i checked the inf the greek characters are displaying correct there, but still i cannot be sure if there is an error in the update since i dont have a clue how an error look like in the inf, strange issue.and another thing how can i remove the KB2981580 from my windows iso? I search all the inf that nlite changes and i found in Nlite.inf in the iso multiple entries of KB2981580 and also some greek characters incorrect that say egypt in congolese or something language i also found in SVCPACK.inf the following entry "KB2981580.CAT" if i delete this it does not install it? but even if i remove this all the other entries remain in Nlite.inf, i smell another sherlock case here
i was searching were to post this question and i think i found the place.

@OverFlow - Have you still the hardware?
@Symbios24 - Ah, those two aforementioned HWID's could be in a variety of hardware, including Lenovo G405/G505 series, by the way .
Hello No,i only have the amd c60 netbook(Acer aspire one 522) With Hwid "PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4391&CC_0106" is it enough for test it? any way to test ti with VirtualBox? does it have different hardware-chipset emulation configurations?

Nice work!
That should have read "rcraid2", yet it matters not what the driver is displayed as, as much as it matters that it doesn't bluescreen again. Now "ahci886" should be driver name in pre-partitioning textmode.
(Noting some drivers show as "unknown" on Win2k, & i don't yet know why, though it matters not for your XP.)Do we have confirmation yet if DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1411031.7z fixes the problem, or does it bluescreen, and where does it bluescreen if so?
Thank you again, Symbios24!
So the a-series achi controller was correct since it was an a-series chipset but after restart blue series but also the achix86 is compatible too(and working) so the driver V6.1.2.5 was found after windows setup finished was for a-series chipset and also correct.
As far as i remember it was detecting the rcraid or rcraid2 and copy the windows files and after the restart was throwing a blue screen with a checkdisk /f and some other things in chinese
its difficult to test it since i don`t have the lenovo notebook anymore,is my amd c60 netbook With Hwid "PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4391&CC_0106" enough to test it,it always detect achix86 v3.3.1540.33 it`s my netbooks default sata controller.

So, the driver actually works for that HWID? That's an easy fix.
Move "PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7801&CC_0106," from [AM-a-2] in DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32.ini to [AM-8] (two sections above it) under ms_1_hwids. If using MS' Notepad, ensure "Word-Wrap" is off before opening the file for editing, so as not to corrupt the file.
Then use 7-zip v9.20 (7-zip settings LZMA,256,32k,512M) and call it DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1411031.7z. Link it here, if you would like. Please try to confirm the fix works. I will thank you in the changelog.
Can you make any sense out of the disparate info i have in there concerning partitioning compatibility?
I need all the help i can get to finish this long running branch of this volunteer community project.
Hello with 7zip 7.20 the smallest dictionary size is 64k there isn`t 32k and the size was more than 20mb if i put it 64k so i put it to 32mb .the word size is 256 and the solid block size is 512mb and the compression level to ultra and the size now its 10mb.i hope its ok.

thanks again
the disc with the DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1405176.7z detected correct the masstorage driver after i put it with nlite. But the chipset driverpack DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_1405191 after installed a different driver in windows,do you need to repair this to install the correct driver ??
the driver amd raid controller 13/9/2013 v6.1.2.5 must be the newest driver for A4/A6 kabini motherboards and not for sb700/710/sb800 etc. motherboards.but since chipset sb700 and up the 05/28/2012, 3.3.1540.33 driver is working with all the motherboards.strange
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOTHER … 6125.shtml
i tried the erroneous disc in my netbook amd c60 with sb800 chipset and it detected the achi controller as achi886 it should be detected it as achix86 so i think the masstorage driverpack DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1405176 has a little problem with ati achi motherboards detection can you fix that or can you tell me how to fix it??
is it possible the chipset driverpack DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_1405191 to have any bug since it installs another achi driver??

I`m afraid its impossible my friend its not anymore here and the only contact we have its from near,as far as i know from my own netbook acer 522(amd c60) with hardware id PCI\VEN_1102&DEV4391&CC_0106 they look the same the only different thing was the gpu 6290 mine 8210 his. the chipset was using the same driver as mine, it had win7 someone put it but they still performing very slow, dual core not quad core unfortunately.i`m using driverpacks base since 2009 trying to do the perfect windows disc that has everything so after format i dont have to put anything at all drivers or programs for my work(computer technician)
i use linux on my cubieboard to make an access point to have internet all over the house from a connection i get from the neighbor.
this is the exact spec of the chipset/cpu/gpu of my friends
http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-E-Seri … 894.0.html
i found from another e1-2100 lenovo notebook in internet the hardware id:
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7801&SUBSYS_380217AA&REV_00\3&2411E6FE&0&88
what i mean with the "do you happen to know the side-effects of the latest masstorage pack?" is if this driverpack has any known problems at all with any other masstorage drivers/chipsets?? was the ati achi the only problem? since this is my install image for formatting computers in general for my work and i don`t want to get into the same problem of another erroneous storage controller when formatting. or you hardly suggest to use the official v12.09 masstorage driverpack for my work ?? thanks

... also, if i have this correct:
Quote of mr_smartepants: "This is why we (continually) recommend people to start with a factory-fresh Microsoft hologramed CD image."
I swear the odds are good that if you integrated that nightly with DPs_BASE (QSC=off see QuickStream Cache + delete existing cache folder in DPs_BASE tree) and a virgin source you wouldn't get a $7B blue screen.
Until you give that a try, your existing image is for the most part, only good for ATAPI installs.
If however; after trying a test integration and test install (copy logs setup*.log, dp*.log), please post your HWID's via the HWID's tool linked in many of the signatures here at the following topic to avoid further dilution of this topic with a unrelated matter. http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 592#p57592
Please start a new topic from time to time, in a relevant area to remain on-topic.
That makes it easier for readers to find the information they need.(though that may sound ironic to some ... d'oh)

Exactly... sysoc.inf is not being called, is that an issue with svcpack or ROE???
The internal addons(inf) that their entries stored in the sysoc.inf are not been installed,They are Probably called ROE since they are not svcpack addons, how to call it??
problem is fixed(partial) it was the Kels_CPLBonus_v13.2_addon fault
now i got a blue screen(BSOD) at 2 minutes remaining to finish the windows setup saying:
A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen,
restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow
these steps:
Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed
hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive
to make sure it is properly configured and terminated.
Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then
restart your computer.
Technical Information:
*** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xBACC3524,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)
i manage to find the cause here its the achi masstorage driver i did the setup by setting in ide(instead of native sata) mode the harddisk and setup finished without a blue screen .the tested sata controller is the Intel I/O Controller Hub 7 (ICH7)
Is the driverpack DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1405176.7z having any errors or bugs?
but this is not the only problem after windows setup in ide mode finished no drivers are installed for any device at all whats going on here..

Sounds like you broke your svcpack.inf or cmdlines.txt or txtsetup.sif file.
Are the addons installing in the image you tested before you integrated DriverPacks?
You ARE testing each stage before moving on to the next modification...right?
Are they "svcpack" or "ROE" addons?
http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/76913-c … vcpackinf/
the are roe addons their entries are in the SYSOC.INF file
i`m testing the image step by step the addons are tested before.
to broke the svcpack i dont think so coz the addons there are installed
only the addons in the SYSOC.INF are not installed.

all of the patches we added to images prior to SP3 (IE a SP2 source) are included with SP3. If you have the most recent version (SP3) no patches are required (since they are included in SP3) and none are added. this is expected behavior. IT IS WORKING PERFECT.
you just answered your own question, changes were made after you added DriverPacks. This almost always results in errors. DriverPacks is the LAST step in creating your image. Or else.
I agree with my team, you need to start clean and you need to not add garbage as part of the install. If you want to add it post install that is up to you. I wouldn't. Adding extraneous garbage to your install is just asking for failure. The main reason people reinstall is to get RID of that kind of useless crap.
the link mr_smartepants included clearly demonstrates that this app is garbage.
AVG... Really? Aaaagh http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 005#p51005
