Shaz see the home page - DriverPacks has been compatible with SP3 since January.

Please use the search feature before posting a [REQ] - it wastes your time and ours...

Furthermore your request is not well thought. They cannot be removed.
Many people will be useing SP2 for a long time.
Plus they are required for Win 2k3 and Win 2K.

engage brain, then post

the link you provided rated ZA (pro) in the top three of the ones tested???
ZA blocked 14 out of a possible 18 and windows PFW blocked 0 of 18. ZA Sounds better to me...
(although i do see the free version is worthless)

http://www.firewallleaktester.com/tests.php

Can you elaborate on your opinion to go without his software firewall at all?

I use ZA (suite) and i have no issues downloading - ZA doesn't block referers.

I have rarely been gotten - once or twice in 5 years and then it was probably my fault ...
I live dangerously since i can reload unattenddedly wink hee hee
none of my clients who use it in conjuction with a gateway has ever been compromized.

Note: software firewalls are inherently flawed because the nasty is already at your PC, so the nasty is halfway home to start with.
A hardware firewall / gateway is always prefered, and a combination of the two is better.

he wants to move the OEM folder to inside the I386 folder... why?
not tough to do - edit presetup.cmd - he is not very bright...

I am pretty sure it is valid, majorgeeks is a fairly reputable source.
they have just leaked the msdn subscriber file...

I was arguing the difference between 'Released' - vs Leaked, Stolen or Pirated.
Available is different than Released.

When I Refer to a "release" I mean an official release by the OEM, in this case MS.

Thanks BB you da man!

AAARRRGGHHH the battle of silicon hill rages on!

major GEEKS is not Microsoft just because somebody posts a file does not mean Microsoft has released it.

I can go and download a copy of server 2008 from MSDN and post it too. that doesn't make it a released copy. (it's stealing)

If someone on major geeks used their MSDN account to get the file and then post it they have broken their agreement with MS and have risked their MSDN access to do it. (and potentialy could get MG shut down - Like autopatcher was)

It is a public release when ms says it is - and that is on the 29th - PERIOD

read it yourself here -->  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/wind … 3a761.aspx

If you can't get it from MicroSoft then it ain't released is it??  (it is STOLEN / PIRATED not 'released')

ARE YOU STONED? wink
PS by the time you finish argueing the point with me it will be released big_smile

http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/driver/in … Fxtls.mspx

It says
Note: The most current version of the Driver Install Frameworks (DIFx) tools is available in the Windows Driver Kit (WDK).
Download WDK: From MSDN Subscriber Downloads or Microsoft Connect Web site (membership required)

This is not a ms helpdesk - please use search features and common sense.

Welcome aboard, we are glad your here!

Awsome  TIA for the feedback!

there is a bug in rvm 1.5.3 that prevents it from calling driverpacks in API mode.

I am on the development team with siginet for the Integrator... this will be fixed in the next release.

I am still useing 1.4.3 as it is still the most stable version

I only use 1.5.3 for testing purposes - not for live machines.

stoner - it is out but only for msdn subscribers the masses have to wait till the 29th

no you cannot have API privileges as an individual.
you must use an approved program like RVM, nLite or AutoImage

PS 90% of our users do use RVM and the other 10% don't use the english versions of windows. wink

perhaps you need some help with RVM integtrator?

So i am to assume you used base 8.04.17RC ? and sound 8.04a? which are the latest versions (today anyway)

we release versions daily... so saying the latest version is vague and ambiguous - and a waste of our time.

list the versions by their version number or you will not receive any help.

I would like to get an exception written for intel 7.08.1017 ahci hwids so that when the ahci mode is used that it will install what is also needed very early on, before first reboot.

I will have to sleep on that idea... we don't currently have a mechanisim to do that.
(since no other driver has ever been dependent on its management console)
It seems to me that this is an intel problem not a driverpacks problem.

the only idea that is ocuring to me at the moment is to customize the INF of the driver (which would break signing)

Truely a TEAM effort... Go TEAM!

Bâshrat the Sneaky is a college student - I am sure he can use the $...

Thanks for reporting that your issue is resolved you have helped yourself and others...

well you did this the hard way and you are missing more than a few entries.

please see our FAQ about making a custom mass storage pack.

prune all drivers except iastor from the pack and the ini then slipstream - bam your done.

If you are a glutton for punishment the instructions to do this correctly are to be found over at MSFN.org

Yay! thanks for testing and reporting it makes driverpacks better for everyone!

PS you should have used 7zip for your self extracting exe in this way you could have reduced the size even further perhaps as low as 6 meg.

Excellent first post - you must be a long time user and frequent reader!

could you update your post with base and sound pack versions used?

Thanks for reporting your issue (so well) - we will see if it is a conflict or just missing.

Welcome to DriverPacks and have a great day.

Thanks for confirming your issue was resolved and welcome to DriverPacks, we are glad your here.

We will of course need you to provide the minimum required info. ("read before you post" in my signature)
Make sure you update your first post and title appropriately
I dont think that your logs will reveal anything except pack and base versions. you may simply post those.
It is impossable to help you if we don't know what base version and pack versions that were used.
(and this info is listed in your DPs_BASE.log)

most importantly we need your HWIDS for the sound card (HWID tool in my sig.)

thanks for reporting your issue we are always striving for the flawless install.

Welcome to DriverPacks, glad your here

i was under the impression that it was Loco Dude big_smile

if you search kb888111 at ms the download is to the most recent version.
PS it is also in the bin folder of base.

Jake the problem is with win 2K not XP...

this post is more than a year old.... sgeye has not posted here since oct 2006

the fix was to use the utilities in the correct order...

I belive you will find your answer in the setupapi.log of the offending system.

make a copy of your base.ini say auto.ini

set GUI = "no" in auto.ini

call dp_base.exe /settings:auto.ini

doing this will run base silently -

If you wish to have the progress window you will need to
submit your public program for approval...
and apply for API privileges with Bâshrat the Sneaky.

RVM Integrator is already on the API list
If you are useing that program you may call base from the advanced window of the Integrator
On the 'optional parameters' line add
/settings:XPpro.ini
or whatever INI you have pre-prepared for your 'location'
no need to modify the GUI setting if you do it this way and you will get the progress window too.

Does that help?

PS this is not a feature request this is a help and support issue - topic moved to correct forum
