I'm with Muiz on this one if you were to extract all the drivers to a CD it would work great.

When you "update" drivers it searches the CD ROM by default.

I was hoping that someone would modify 'Unknown Devices' as the source is available <http://www.halfdone.com/ukd/>. I went to have a look to make sure of the license and it looks like Mike 'Catfish' Moniz is coding a new version that works with Vista. Hopefully we could get him to include this functionality.

It would really be great to have a standalone facility ("Driver Doctor"?) with a simple GUI that you could run to reinstall a broken driver, check for more recent drivers for one or all devices, etc. (think up your own). As someone who can afford only Trailing Edge stuff (like a Pyro AGP card), this would beat hunting all over the Net for drivers. And be more convenient.
The DriverPacks work great from inside a distro (experience, warezdemon) but would really be fantastic as a standalone. If I were a better programmer I'd try it myself.
Who wants to be a hero and step up to the plate???

Unpack them al and burn on a dvd.......
Point to the dvd when installing devices.

I would love to see this feature added as when you are a tech and go to a CLIENTS home this effort and DRIVER CD would be most useful and appreciated ... Not that it isnt now but to have a SINGLE stand alone searchable CD would make this an EVEN MORE valuable tool then it already it and IT IS VALUABLE !!!

Its like a GOLD mine of Drivers ... Please try and work something out for this or maybe add that as option 3 in the driver base a way to make a DRIVER only CD

You can make it manually (search for "drivers CD"), but the BASE does not allow you yet to make it in an automated way.
