Re: [Final] Mass Storage 711

I am interested in testing this but all the links appear to be broken atm. sad
I am just getting started with integrating the Driverpacks.net MS pack with sysprep. smile

Re: [Final] Mass Storage 711

Hmm, yes, they were moved into the "olde" folder.

The latest change was done by JakeLD and is this one

71012X_No_SiLCC_NVIDIAFIX

If you have an AMD CPU and Nvidia chipset, and 71012X_No_SiLCC_NVIDIAFIX does not work, then do try the 7109X
(I will put it in the testing folder again, so that the link again works  )
7109X_SiL_No_CC.7z

CC_010x tags were apparently not needed for Silicon Image, so that file where we tagged SiLicon Image stays in the "old folder".

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

Re: [Final] Mass Storage 711

Hi all,
711_nightly is uploaded for test

I updated the first post.
I mentioned that Sil 3114 got downgraded, and there is a folder structure change.
Apart from that, it is using 71012X as starting point.

Now, PLEASE:
If you use an Nforce chipset mobo with an AMD or INTEL CPU, we need your report.
(I have not pulled the links to 71012x nor 7109x)

Re: [Final] Mass Storage 711

Main release for Mass storage DriverPack has not been updated since late september.
We have had something like 14 testpacks since then, though.
The major changes were the workarounds for different mass storage BIOS versions, and that Silicon mess is licked, far as I know.
Another development was work done on Nvidia mass storage. (JakeLD and I worked together on this. It was a follow up on reports done in here..)

This Nforce driver has held up release.
I want to be double sure these changes will work on AMD and INTEL platforms.
I do not have moboes with Nvidia's Nforce chipsets, so I cannot test.
As soon as I see reports on Nforce x with AMD and Intel, it will fly with me.
I have been waiting on a conclusive test with an AMD.
(One wonders, have they fallen from grace?)

Anyway.
Is there other news?
OverFlow wrote the DpsBase PE plugin tutorial which I put online. (see my signature)
What else?
I put like 60 hours in soundpacks, and then the testers became real helpers, and we see some get team members status because of the quality of their imput.
(Remarkable, that.  Thank YOU for helping us. And NO, the work I did will not be wasted at all.)

I wish I was smart.
I should have ducked, rather than try fix the mess.
But, it is rewarding and when one gets others to actively help us help you, I get reason to say thanks.
I'm da_mn sure some readers of this topic helped us by reporting.
Guys, thanks for all reports.
If we only get praise, I know something is very wrong.

Thanks man. I appreciate this.
it ran good on a AMD CPU.

Re: [Final] Mass Storage 711

You bet... I just noticed that I showed using the Sound A DP... actually that wasn't part of the build I did... I had it downloaded but not selected and had inadvertantly left that one in the list..

Re: [Final] Mass Storage 711

you might as well look at the latest sound pack testfiles. (check hwid fix topic in sound forum)

Re: [Final] Mass Storage 711

it is released.
highlander had already tested this on an AMD cpu, with Nforce, and your test was OK too.
We'll see what the big masses say, I guess.

Re: [Final] Mass Storage 711

Everything seems to work well with 7.11 driverpack! I used Skillz script for generating HWIDS.

I use this in conjunction with Vernalex's Sysprep Driver Scanner

Run Vernalex Scanner on directories you want (I usually only do Chipset, CPU, MassStorage and LAN; because Sound and Graphics usually screw everything up)

Re: [Final] Mass Storage 711

Also working well enough on most machines I've tested at my workplace

Used source:
XP PRO SP2 Portuguese
+ nlite and addons
+ updates from MS
+ All latest driverpacks available on the download page this monday

Hardware:
Pentium IV
256Mb~512Mb
---

Rebuilt several times in different configurations and also tested under Virtual Box emulator.

Only noticed a glitch when adding the graphic card driverpacks as it was needed to cancel the generic monitor display - nothing to do with mass storage anyways.
