Could you add the short piece of info regarding the separation of sound drivers you wrote in this thread http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 315#p41315 to the about page which describes the history of the driverpacks and explains each of them, so that people who will have the same question will get the answer more quickly than by analyzing the driver listings ?

Thank you for taking the time to answer although I know it's not a prioritary question on the forum. Now I understand better what the two sound driver packs contain and why many people choose to integrate both.

Hi.

First of all, thanks for such a great work and I'm sorry but I can't even find a job here so I can't donate yet.

The man was asking a normal question... when one sees two things labeled A and B one thinks they are separated like that for a reason. Maybe they are grouped like that because you don't want a single archive to get too large, or maybe the second pack comprises drivers that are needed more rarely ?

DP Graphics separation has a decent explanation on the About page, maybe Sound can have one too. I've looked through the driver lists and can't figure out, but it would be useful to know if eg. DP Sound A is for dedicated sound boards and DP Sound B for integrated chips.

Have a nice day!

Great news!

We are still devising a plan, but it's possible that we may move to a split distribution where the torrents would be free, but the CDN would be available to paid users.  This would help subsidize our costs and give users a tiered service.  It's just an idea.

Good idea!

Thank you!

if only there were some modest common sense in the world, you would have been paid at least that amount and now the problem of hosting wouldn't be possible. people should wake up roll  , but I guess you have to understand what effort it means to offer it so kindly for free in order to appreciate it. in the end, they will have something to lose. I can't even find a job and the thought still crossed my mind. nothing is really for free ...
usually people who make most money are the most selfish with it. I bet if you announce that in three months you would close the project because of the lack of funds, their conscious would suddenly awaken. that would be bad if not unbearable to most of us. I'd rather lose $10 than let this project disappear.
sorry. chatty. delete it or move it if you like

Hi, well I haven't gotten to saying thanks yet, but although I'm newly registered, I've been reading forums related to the driver-packs for quite a long time, and I must say your work has helped me and many other people a lot, although I can't say I'm doing money enough of what I do enough even for my strict necessities (I'm 23 and I'm not on my own feet yet), so donating is not an option for me at the moment, although I feel in debt to some other freeware/open-source developers whose products I've been using for a long time too.

But you may be too rough this time. People can forget saying thank you when things don't work because of the frustration, I apologize in the name of all of them, hopefully they're not that many though. It's perfectly understandable though, I wouldn't even bother when most don't even donate a dollar.

In my case, I'm from Romania and both Sound driver-packs downloads are corrupted, and even the graphics-physX I believe. I've tried several times today at 11:30-11:45 AM. Version 10.06 didn't work, but version 10.03 downloads work fine, so I prefer that over using proxies.

THANK YOU, have a nice day and many donations!
I'll be back!

I hope I'm not upsetting anyone, but the driver-packs archives for Sound version 10.06 don't download properly in my case.

After downloading (and I've tried several times), the 7-zip files are less than the size they were supposed to be (one of them is 22 MB!) and the latest versions of WinRAR and 7-zip both give errors when uncompressing, like "cannot open archive" or "the files may be incomplete/corrupted" or something like that.

EDIT: I've just downloaded version 10.03 of the sound driver-packs and they work fine.

Can you please verify the download links and check if the files v.10.06 are valid ?
