Topic: XP CD doesn't prompt me to repair after integrating MassStorage (3 replies, posted in DriverPack Mass Storage)
Hi.
I'm trying to make a XP installation CD with serial number and Mass Storage drivers included.
Without Mass Storage drivers winnt.sif looks like this:
; Generated by nLite 1.4.9.1
[Data]
Autopartition=0
MsDosInitiated=0
UnattendedInstall="Yes"
[SystemRestore]
[GuiUnattended]
OemSkipWelcome=1
[Components]
[UserData]
ProductKey="XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX"
[RegionalSettings]
LanguageGroup=1
Language= "0409"
[Networking]
InstallDefaultComponents="Yes"
[Identification]
JoinWorkgroup="WORKGROUP"
At this point it prompts me to repair, it shows Eula, prompts me to format the partition and to choose regional settings. It's exactly like I wanted.
After integrating Mass Storage drivers winnt.sif looks like this:
; Generated by nLite 1.4.9.1
[Data]
Autopartition=0
UnattendedInstall="Yes"
MsDosInitiated=No
[SystemRestore]
[GuiUnattended]
OemSkipWelcome=1
[Components]
[UserData]
ProductKey="XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX"
[RegionalSettings]
LanguageGroup=1
Language= "0409"
[Networking]
InstallDefaultComponents="Yes"
[Identification]
JoinWorkgroup="WORKGROUP"
;
; Edited by DriverPacks BASE 10.06
; http://www.driverpacks.net/
;
[Unattended]
DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore
NonDriverSigningPolicy=Ignore
[GUIRunOnce]
command9="%SystemDrive%\DPsFnshr.exe"
But it doesn't prompt me to repair, it doesn't show Eula, it doesn't prompt me to format the partition (just installs over) and to choose regional settings.
In Nlite if I choose "Unattended=DefaultHide" (until now I have chosen "PromptRepair") it allows me to format the partition and I can set regional parameters in winnt.sif. But it's not enough.
If I erase "DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore" and "NonDriverSigningPolicy=Ignore" from winnt.sif all is fine (it prompts me to repair, Eula, format etc). But I think it will generate other problems...
My question is: how can I build a XP installation CD with serial number and mass storage drivers included that prompts me to repair, shows Eula, prompts me to format the partition and let me choose regional settings?
I know, this seems like a question for msfn forums (nlite section) but I'm asking here because integrating mass storage drivers triggers the problem.
Thanks in advance for any reply.
Best regards, Cosmin3

Re: [BUG][10.06][slipstreamer]is too fast and the log file is half size (3 replies, posted in DriverPack Mass Storage)
because every file read or written is virus scanned...
Thank you for your reply.
I understood that.
I guess there are a lot of accessed files during slipstreaming to cause such a speed drop...
A suggestion: you could show a warning in the program's interface about that.
Best regards, Cosmin3

Sorry for the double post.
I found out why there is a time difference: last time I deactivated my antivirus (Eset Nod32) and forgot to reactivate it.
I understand 20..30% difference, but not 1500%. Does someone has an idea why..?
And why is such a big difference between those 2 log files..?
Thank you for any reply.

Topic: [BUG][10.06][slipstreamer]is too fast and the log file is half size (3 replies, posted in DriverPack Mass Storage)
Hi.
Until a few days ago I used DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1006.7z The slipstreaming took about 15 min.
Today I switched to DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1009.7z. The slipstreamin took about 1 minute and the log file is half size.
I don't complain about been so fast but I'm just checking.
I took the same steps with nlite, I integrated the same files (not drivers). Just before creating Iso I used your program.

It doesn't matter - probably its' temporary...
Regarding the problem with the driver: I still don't know what to do - maybe to try an older one...

Re: problem with iastor.sys (8 replies, posted in DriverPack Mass Storage)
To OverFlow: I did check Google first but I didn't find anything usefull. And in OEM is the one from Vista not XP. Vista works fine but XP not.
In driverpacks it's the latest driver (8.6.0.1007 from 09/12/2008). All I could find are old drivers: 8.2.0.1001 from 05/07/2008 on acer.com and 8.5.0.1032 from 07/20/2008 on http://komku.blogspot.com/2008/12/acer- … p-and.html
To mr_smartepants: I don't think so. I tried 3 times + another 2 right now. You say that I misspelled "iastor.sys" 5 times...?
I'm using Opera browser but I tried also with Mozilla Firefox - same result.

Hi.
Sorry for my bad englsh.
I searched this forum for "iastor.sys" and it says "Your search returned no hits."...
A friend of mine bought 2 Acer Aspire 5735z laptops.
I have set SATA in Bios on AHCI.
I installed XP SP3 with DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_901.7z integrated.
But sometimes when is working on them my friend gets this message:
I don't think it's a problem with Sata controller but with the driver.
What can I do...?
Thank you for any help.
