i will post with my account mooms until now....

It's not a new one, it's the official AMD release for more than two years, i have it installed on my dual core AMD4400+ since i own it (two years also), and all works fine, including power saving. (Cool’n’Quiet and PowerNow).

I think it worth updating, if AMD have updated it they have good reasons.
The precedent one included in 804 release may have power saving and/or stability issues, or maybe bugs with newers X2 releases.
After all, it's the most important drivers with the chipset.

Thank you OverFlow for the kind words, it's a pleasure to contribute to the driverpacks community !

Have a great day too !

I have send a mail to the owner of the pc with SaveHwids attached, if he send me the informations i will post it here .

Nice to see someone giving back to the Forum. Way to go

Download worked for me !!!!

Thank you BigBrit, glad to hear that

Today i have make a Windows XP installation DVD with latest driver packs (all drivers packs)  and installed this on an old notebook: Toshiba Portege M100.
The sound drivers was not installed.

luckily for me i have easily found a proper driver with a good old google search.

I don't have the laptop with me anymore, so i can't provide you the HWids....

maybe the drivers alone is enough ?

It's just for the sake of completness, and for helping other users with similar hardware, if it's not enought never mind!

[Release Candidate] DP_CPU - AMD K8 Driver, Test Please
Hello folks, first i want to thank you all for this wonderful site, application and collection of drivers, it really making the life of windows power users easier.
I apologize for my english, it's not my native language (I'm french)

I have found that the files amdk8.cat, amdk8.inf and amdk8.sys are not in their latest versions in the DP_CPU_wnt5_x86-32_804.

If you install the latest amd processor driver located here or even a precedent version (much smaller, i think it doesn't contain the newer amdppm driver) located here, you can see that the version installed by those two installers are:

1.3.2 (dnsrv(wmbla).060701-2226)
modified 07/01/2006
MD5: 31ffde1be912d7cbd3f189feb61f86b6

in the DP_CPU_wnt5_x86-32_804 archive the file version of amdk8.sys is

1.3.2 (dnsrv(wmbla).060618-2337
modified 06/19/2006
MD5: 0a4d13b388c814560bd69c3a496ecfa8

If you don't believe me you can install the amd processor driver ( i have provided the officials AMD links) and compare the checksums and dates of modification of the three files.

So i have made a new version of the driver pack CPU, version 9.04 to respect your naming convention

I have only updated the three amdk8 files, others files are left untouched as it seems they are already in their latest version. (not verified amdaway.inf, don't know for what it is btw)

Long life to the driverpacks !
