Exactly.

SP2 and SP3.

I read a bit about that problem yesterday and could have something to do with the Windows Drivers Database that get updated with every Service Pack.

Thx for the reply.

Hi mr_smartpants,

I updated the bios (used toshiba updter), I reinstalled the chipset driver (intelchipset_t910bxis, just to make sure),

I used the yamaha uninstaller, I removed all the yamaha entries from the registry with regseeker.

I tried to reinstall the sound driver... Noop. "Driver wasn't not installed".

I got a call from Toshiba, they say that there doing their best with Yamaha to solve the problem, but in fact, that's Microsoft causing the problem via their service pack. Solution might come from Microsoft? I don't count on that...

From what I understand, there is an entry in the registry that block the installation of the driver. But I can't find it.

I'll try this link, but tried s5105sndx.exe from Toshiba. Did not work.

THX for reply.

By the way, I don't have vendor CD or DVD, no bootdisk, no nothing. Donation.

Thank you.

Thank you for the reply.

I used the DrivePack Sound B v8.05

I have no idea what #4 refers to from your suggestion : http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=4

I'm new at DriverPack, so I need to learn few things.

I downloaded the Driverpack sound B file. Extracted it. Found YMF753 driver, by guessing and checking, and tried to apply it. Didn't work.

Your way of doing things seems to be a bit more deeper than that.

Let me know by where to start, if possible.

Thank you!

Win XP SP3

DriverPacks sound driver doesn't work.

Toshiba SP1 and SP2 (no wonder) don't work too. v5105sndx

AWI3157_XP from Yamaha doesn't work.

And a bunch of others. Not working.

Tried uninstaller from Toshiba and Yamaha, then reinstalling: I get the message "Driver was not installed".

Tried through the Device Manager: I don't even see the Yamaha AC-XG Audio Device.

Tried to erase some entries about Yahama Sound Card Driver through the Registry Editor: not working.

Tried through Add Hardware from the Control Panel: not working.

Any idea? Other then reformating and starting over...

Thank you!
