Sounds like a hardware function rather than a driver.  I imagine the utility just monitors the status of the drive and doesn't actually handle

exactly but it needs a driver to work

Hi, a lot of HP notebooks ned HP 3Dguard driver... i'm not able to classify right DP for this device, here a short description of 3dguard...

"This package provides HP 3D DriveGuard for the supported notebook models and operating systems. HP 3D DriveGuard protects the hard drive (HDD) by "parking the heads" if the notebook is accidentally dropped or is abruptly impacted by another object. NOTE: HP 3D DriveGuard provides RAID volume support on systems with the Intel RAID Controller Driver version 8.0.2 (or later). Only Intel RAID Controllers are supported at this time."

Here OS links:

Windows XP http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Te … ob-67555-1
Windows Vista/7 x86_x64 http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Te … ob-78211-1

Someone can add it to right DP (and which is the right one? smile )

i suppose you've a dell notebook, your device is Ricoh Card reader R5C833.
To find the Windows 7 driver for this device, go do dell website and select notebook Studio XPS 1340, go to the driver page and select Windows 7 operating system.  Under chipset, you'll find the driver....it's named:  R227769.exe
It's the same driver whether you're using 32 or 64 bit WIN 7.
I hope this can help you smile

Driverpack Solution and Drivers Installer Assistant both are greats smile
I'll help you to translate in italian like i did with Drivers Pack Unpacker & Installer by Warm Snow.
I've realized an userbar you can find in my signature for Driverpack solution users hoping you like it, i'll do one also for Drivers Installer Assistant (i've no idea about the logo)
Good work to both smile

i've downloaded Base 10.01.24 and i've compared italian and english file (there are no differences)
I took advantage of this opportunity to check and fix some older errors smile

I was looking all over place for the link to driverpacks.net in DriverPack Solution 8 and 9 but found none. There are plenty of links, including comprehensive list of hardware manufacturers. This makes me wonder if ArtX even know where the DriverPacks originated. For all we know, he could have used driverpacks by SamLab giving all credit to SamLab. ArtX doesn't speak English and might not have known about the DriverPack.
SamLab makes his tweaks to the DriverPacks and distributes driverpacks rebranded as SamDrivers with Driver Installer Assistant. The users aren't given any information about the origin of driverpacks apart from the links in Driver Installer Assistant. Considering the overwhelming popularity of SamDrivers in the RUnet, it's no wonder many people don't know anything about the DriverPacks and the fact that SamDrivers are based on the DriverPacks. I never knew that Greg's driverpacks are based on the DriverPacks either. The filenames were so different that I never tried to compare them with the DriverPacks.
EDIT: SamLab and Greg give proper credit to the driverpacks. Sorry for making the false claim. I should have checked it before showing my ignorance. There are many unofficial torrents where  the DriverPacks aren't mentioned though

I asked here http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=4223 same question smile

Hi, i'm helping to translate Driverpack solution and Driver installation Assistant and i've read on MSFN

stasys44  Sep 23 2009, 09:55 AM

Two programms in one SAM drivers v. 9.13 - consist of shell and drivers and disscused are here .

The shell is one of two driver installation programs:
DriverPack Solution v. 9 Professional (Italian language is added)
or
Drivers Installation Assistant v.2.0.1 (developed from the above, in Visual Basic 6, still Russian, but efforts are beeing done to make it multilanguage)

DriverPacks are created together with Bashrat team (there are some differences). Sam enters to this team.

Which differences between our driverpacks and SAM driverpacks? Can i find somewhere in our forum a post about this topic?
Thank you
