Hi

setup don't detect my HDD MAXTOR SATA STM3160211AS 160 GO

with motherboard http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=775i65G

I found this when I extract Inf drivers with winrar...

************************************************************
* 8B.  INSTALLING THE WINDOWS* XP INF FILES PRIOR TO
*      OS INSTALLATION
************************************************************
NOTE: The Windows* XP OEM Preload Kit distribution CD contains
a setup directory with all the base operating system
setup files and installation programs (WINNT.EXE and
      WINNT32.EXE).

The name of the directory may vary depending on the
distribution CD (e.g., \I386\).

1.  Create the following directory structure under the
    <WINXP Setup Directory>:

       \$OEM$\$$\INF

2.  Copy the Windows* XP INF files from
<INF Extract Directory>\XXXX\WinXP to the directory
    created in Step 1 above:

       <WINXP Setup Directory>\$OEM$\$$\INF

NOTE: XXXX is the directory name for the chipset of
interest.  Refer to Section 8 for more details.

3.  Create the following directory structure under the
    <WINXP Setup Directory>:

       \$OEM$\$1\drivers\IntelINF

4.  Copy the Windows* XP INF files AND the catalog files
(.CAT) from <INF Extract Directory>\XXXX\WinXP to the
directory created in Step 4 above:

       <WINXP Setup Directory>\$OEM$\$1\drivers\IntelINF

NOTE: XXXX is the directory name for the chipset of
interest. Refer to Section 8 for more details.

5.  Either modify the default Windows* XP installation
answer file, UNATTEND.TXT, located in <WINXP Setup
Directory>, or create a customized answer file.  The
answer file must include the following information:

       [Unattended]
       OemPreinstall = Yes
       OemPnPDriversPath="drivers\IntelINF"

A sample answer file for preloading the Intel(R) Chipset
Software Installation utility files is available:
    <INF Extract Directory>\XXXX\WinXP\INFAnswr.TXT

If you are a computer manufacturer, refer to the Microsoft*
Windows* XP Guide to Unattended Setup for more information
about Windows* XP answer files and unattended installations.
For more information about the \$OEM$ folder, refer to the
Microsoft Windows* XP OEM Preinstallation Kit (OPK)
User Guide. If you are not a manufacturer, refer to the Microsoft
    Windows* XP Deployment Guide.

6.  Run "WINNT.EXE /u:<answer file name> /s:<WINXP Setup
    Directory>" to install Windows* XP.

Simple solution, use Method 2.
It's better than Method 1 anyway.

if you wish to have setup detect your HDD during text mode a third party pack won't help

we will need yoru HWID to add it as tiger said....

however he was wrong about nlite you probbaly do want to add it with nlite but you will have to add it BEFORE you run driverpacks.

driverpacks is always the last step (he is right that if you try to add it after driverpacks it will make a mess)_

tell me juste how I can get it......I have vista in this amilio pro ^^

It looks as though someone has uploaded another Modem pack and moved the old one, however did not provide a changelog for the new pack (v7.11.20) Whoever upped this file please provide a changelog so we can link to the file if needed.

Thanks

DriverPack SmartCard Readers: 7.02 too if it's possible ^^

Do not use nLite to add a driver after you've slipstreamed DriverPacks.  It can really mess up the install disk, because DriverPacks is designed to replace the official windows driver setup (the one that nLite uses).

If you find the driver, you can make your very own 3rd party pack.

http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=5

However, if you only need this for one machine, I don't think you need to go to all of that trouble.  Might as well just install it yourself later.

If you want the device to be added to the official DriverPacks, get the Hardware ID and make a request for it in the Mass Storage Discussion area:
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewforum.php?id=12

for the moment,i don't have a driver and i can't make pack myself because i don't understant what tuto say (m poor english)

I don't see your particular device on the supported list.  That might be why it isn't detected. smile

ahhh..sorry...thanks ^^....

can anyone add it to the pack ??

if I found driver alone and add it with nlite ??....that's work in text mode ??

Hi,
