Helmi,

It looks as though there are no Win2003 drivers for the D-Link DWL-G510.  I checked both revA and revB of the card and neither had drivers for Win2003 for that card.  Here is the link to the drivers page for revB of that card which shows you which OS drivers there are and aren't for the card.

Jaak,

I'll work on this and e-mail you everything once I'm done.

jtdoom,

I'm all done with these three drivers.  I e-mailed you everything.

jtdoom,

I'll work on this when I get home from work and then send you the finished product for this including a TXT file with the INI entry information.

I was reading on IBM that SAS drives use RAID functionality on such controllers as ServeRAID 8s which is one of the controllers in both [I-4] and [I-5]

Here is the article on IBM's website about ServeRAID 8s.
http://www-304.ibm.com/jct01004c/system … GR-5069848

Under "Features, functions, and key advantages" on that page, it states that "IBM ServeRAID 8s SAS Controller (39R8765)" "Functions as a hard drive RAID controller".

jtdoom,

When you post the next MassStorage Driver Pack, could you e-mail me the INI file along with the changes made, so I could update the HWIDs spreadsheet I'm making?  Thanks.

I found the drivers for it.

http://rapidshare.com/files/41221197/In … 30.7z.html

I have taken the liberty of downloading the drivers from Dell's website, extracting the drivers, and deleted unneeded files.  I have compressed the drivers into a 7z file and put the 7z file on RapidShare.  There are two INF files in there.  One INF is for the AHCI driver sand the other INF is for the rest of the other types of drivers.

muiz,

Here is the link for the drivers.

http://rapidshare.com/files/41166161/D-W-ZY.7z.html

I created a folder under D\W named ZY, created a folder under ZY named 1, since there is the possibility of adding more Zyxel drivers, and copied the drivers to the D\W\ZY\1 folder.  I made it so all you have to do is extract the 7z file from the link to the D\W folder.

Hope this help you out.

muiz,

Here is the link for the drivers.

http://rapidshare.com/files/41164855/D-W-AT-T.7z.html

I downloaded the drivers, deleted the current files in the D\W\AT\T folder, and replaced them with the updated drivers from Toshiba's website.  I made it so all you have to do to add these drivers is delete the current D\W\AT\T folder and then extract the 7z file from the link to the D\W\AT folder.

Hope this helps you out.

Has anyone gotten a chance to test this out yet?

Could someone who has this network card test out the DriverPack I made and report back on it?  Unfortunately, I don't have that network card.

I just finished re-packing the LAN DriverPack with the new Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet Adapter driver version (v10.15.9.3).  Here is the link to download the DriverPack.

On the new site, my plan is to make test versions (let's call it "dev versions", which is more accurate) available to everybody. So whomever is having a problem, should give the latest dev version a try. Or anybody who would like to help us, of course.

That's a good idea.

I did one even better for you.  I used version 10.15.9.3 of the drivers for Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows 2000.

psychoboust,

If you need to use that driver, I would just change "ms_1_exc_skipIfOS = "wxp,w2k3"" to either "ms_1_exc_skipIfOS = "w2k3"", if you're using it for Windows XP, or to "ms_1_exc_skipIfOS = "wxp"", if you're installing it for Windows Server 2003.  If you're installing it for Windows 2000, just remove "ms_1_exc_disableIfOS= "w2k"" completely, but leave the other line in.

jtdoom or Helmi, please confirm whether this is the right thing to do.  Thanks.

(a usable list of HWIDS.)
Because of overlap in HWIDs, some INF files have been changed, see. And when an update comes along I want to compare lists.

The debug files are indeed not referenced.
We can get rid of the X64, and vxd files, but the setuperr log will then show missing files.
(no big deal, but in extreme cases it could trigger a pop-up)

Okay.  I see what you mean.  I'll leave my MassStorage DriverPack as is.  Thanks for the info, jtdoom.

jtdoom,

Please let me know where I could post the finished product from these tweaks.  Thanks.

Okay.  I have deleted all the files from tweaks 1, 2, and 4-10.  I have also removed the read-only, system, and hidden attributes from all files and folders (tweak 11).  I didn't do step 3 because the DriverPacks supports drivers for Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.

Question on Step 12:  What would using those command line switches do different than how this DriverPack is currently compressed?

HOOT, HOOT.

you are now officially ours, and first errant is about BSOD.

BSOD will mean 'bring sushi or dumplings' when we are done.

Thanks,  jtdoom.  Now, where do I go to download the beta versions of the DriverPacks, so I could look through the files and test them.

jtdoom,

Would you like me to be a tester?

I just downloaded the beta version from the link.  I may have found an error.

[L-3]
ms_count             = 2
ms_1_deviceName        = "Mylex AcceleRAID 160 Disk Array Controller"
ms_1_tag            = "dac2w2k"
ms_1_sysFile        = "dac2w2k.sys"
ms_1_hwids            = "PCI\VEN_1069&DEV_0050&SUBSYS_00541069,PCI\VEN_1069&DEV_0050&SUBSYS_00521069,PCI\VEN_1069&DEV_0050&SUBSYS_00501069,PCI\VEN_1069&DEV_BA56&SUBSYS_00401069,PCI\VEN_1069&DEV_BA56&SUBSYS_00301069"
ms_1_isBusExtender    = false
ms_1_exc_disableIfOS= "w2k"
ms_1_exc_replaceIfOS= "wxp,w2k3"
ms_2_deviceName        = "Mylex DAC960PG/PJ/PR/PT/PTL1/PRL Series Disk Array Controller"
ms_2_tag            = "dac960nt"
ms_2_sysFile        = "dac960nt.sys"
ms_2_hwids            = "PCI\VEN_1069&DEV_0010&SUBSYS_00101069,PCI\VEN_1011&DEV_1065&SUBSYS_00201069"
ms_2_isBusExtender    = false
ms_2_exc_disableIfOS= "w2k"
ms_2_exc_replaceIfOS= "w2k,wxp,w2k3"

The last two lines don't look right.  If the driver is disabled if the OS is w2k, it shouldn't need to replace the driver if the OS is w2k.  Am I right?

That would explain why I didn't have that  [V-4] section.  I don't have access to the beta versions of the DriverPacks.  Is there a way that I could get access to the beta DriverPacks?

Unfortunately, no I didn't have ATI AHCI hardware to test this on.  I made all the changes that I mentioned to you and I was able to get into the main part of Windows setup after loading all of the drivers.  Before editing the file, I was unable to get to the main part of Windows setup because of the "ahcix86.sys could not be found" message.  As for the [V-4] error you were talking about, I don't have a [V-4]; mine went from [V-3] to [VM].  Did you add that section, have a beta version of the next MassStorage DriverPack, or something?

jtdoom,

I have made a working version of the DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_7061.7z.  If you want, I could post it or send it to you or something.

jtdoom,

When I got home from work today, I edited the INI file so it was "ms_3_exc_disableIfOS = "w2k"".  After that, I tested it out and everything worked fine.  I also found another error in the INI file.  Below is the code I found another error in.

[C-1]
ms_count             = 1
ms_1_deviceName        = "Compaq Smart Array 5x and 6x Controller"
ms_1_tag        = "cpqcissm"
ms_1_sysFile        = "cpqcissm.sys"
ms_1_hwids = "PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_B060&SUBSYS_40700E11,PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_B178&SUBSYS_40800E11,PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_B178&SUBSYS_40820E11,PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_B178&SUBSYS_40830E11,PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_0046&SUBSYS_40910E11,PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_0046&SUBSYS_409A0E11,PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_0046&SUBSYS_409B0E11,PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_0046&SUBSYS_409C0E11,PCI\VEN_0E11&DEV_0046&SUBSYS_409D0E11"
ms_1_isBusExtender    = false
ms_2_exc_skipIfOS    = "w2k"

The line "ms_2_exc_skipIfOS    = "w2k"" should be "ms_1_exc_skipIfOS    = "w2k"".

I found another line as well with an error.

ms_count             = 1
