hi

sorry to inform you that your trick doesn't work ...

Hello,

I'm back with my @%#* BSODs ...

Hardware : HP dx2200MT (HWIDs follows)
BIOS settings : no option for the controller, so I don't know if it's AHCI or IDE

Slipstreamed all the latest official driverpacks, including Mass Storage 706.1 using DPBase 7052

Textmode setup is OK, HD detected, partition created, formated, files copied OK.
1st reboot : BSOD with our old friend, code stop 0x7B.

HWID is not in the .ini file, but it's in the files D\M\AT\atihdc.inf and D\M\AT\atihdc2.inf ....

Any idea ????

(maybe more tests to come tomorrow)

Hello,

i know there's a fresh new version of DriverPack Lan (7.06.1) but i wanted to report that the yellow mark has disapeared when I used DriverPack Lan 7062Test

Hardware : HP 6710b, Broadcom NetLink
HWID : PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1693&SUBSYS_30C0103C&REV_02\4&227633DA&0&00E2

Hope that the final 7.06.1 will act that way ...

hi

and the winner is  ..... jtdoom

well done !

just slipstreamed DP massstorage 7056.
textmode setup is OK

my IDE DVD reader is detected in the graphics part of the install.
DriverPacks are decompressed
setup is going on

YEAH BABY !!!

at least, it solved my BSOD ... but will it solve the problem on each and every mobo that uses JMicron ??

If I have time, i will test the same DriverPacks with my JMicron set as AHCI, as well as my ICH8R set as AHCI (separate tests)

EDIT: the JMicron RAID controller is not listed in my hardware manager... strange, isnt' it ? I think it's beacause I have no hardware plugged on the sata ports that are controlled by the JMicron, only my IDE DVDROM Reader ... The problem is that it's listed with DrivePacks Base 7016 and associated DriverPacks (before official 7.04) and I do not modify my hardware settings (except BIOS settings) between 2 tests

I included my real hwid (PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2363&SUBSYS_B0001458&REV_02) in the .ini of the DP MassStorage 70424, so it's included in the txtsetup.sif

Text mode setup is OK, in graphics mode, my DVD ROM (PATA) is *NOT* detected and setup says it cannot find C:\DSPdsblr.exe and in the next window, Windows asks for the file 'asms' which is supposed to be located at "GLOBALROOT\DEVICE\CDROM0\I386"

If I set my JMicron controller as AHCI in the BIOS, I have a nice BSOD in textmode

====================================================================================
my hwids for the JMicron controller

if set as IDE :
PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2363&SUBSYS_B0001458&REV_02\4&23995DF6&0&00E5

if set as AHCI :

PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2363&SUBSYS_B0001458&REV_02\4&23995DF6&0&01E5

====================================================================================
right now, i'm using a windows installed with the 1st configuration (DP Base 7016 and so on ...)

but i really want to find why that damned JMicron is messing up with the DP 7.04 ...

any idea ?

hi again,

i've quickly compared the .ini file in the DP 7.016 and in the DP 7.0424

the only differences (only for the JMicron sections) are that :
- in DP 7.016, the complete string "VEN_197B&DEV_2363&SUBSYS_B0001458" is not present, in DP 7.0424, it is.
- the order [J-1] [J-2] has been changed between 7.016 and 7.0424 ...

other difference, the driver version has changed between the 2 DriverPacks.

I've read in other posts that the order in the .ini file can change a lot, but i'm still confused with this problem ...

my conclusion would be : no driver (in DP 7.016) is better that the correct driver (7.0424) ...

hi

FYI, eralier this morning (just before work), i tried a new install with old DriverPacks

DP Base 7016
DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_612
DP_CPU_wnt5_x86-32_6091
DP_Graphics_A_wnt5_x86-32_701
DP_Graphics_B_wnt5_x86-32_612
DP_Graphics_C_wnt5_x86-32_701
DP_LAN_wnt5_x86-32_701
DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_7011
DP_Sound_A_wnt5_x86-32_701
DP_Sound_B_wnt5_x86-32_612
DP_WLAN_wnt5_x86-32_701

Text mode is OK
Windows starts the graphics part of the installation, and YES, my DVD reader is detected and DriverPacks are decompressed

Didn't have much time to compare DP mass 701 and 704 but i'll do it at noon or tonight.

hello,

my current BIOS settings :

SATA RAID/AHCI Mode [Disabled] (so IDE mode)
SATA Port0-3 Native Mode [Enabled] or [Disabled] (doesn't change anything)
Onboard SATA/IDE Device [Enabled]
Onboard SATA/IDE Ctrl Mode [IDE]

Just tried these settings :

SATA RAID/AHCI Mode [AHCI]
SATA Port0-3 Native Mode [Disabled]
Onboard SATA/IDE Device [AHCI]
Onboard SATA/IDE Ctrl Mode [IDE]

BSOD in text mode ....

I tried to connect my IDE DVD ROM reader on a SATA connector with a SATA<->IDE adapter, but it's not detected by the BIOS ...

Hi,

same problem for me with DP 7.04.
BSOD in text mode, juste before the partition screen.

Hardware : Gigabyte 965P-DS4 (new rev 3.3) + SATA HD on Gigabyte SATA2 controller (JMicron) + IDE (PATA) DVDROM (controlled by JMicron)

I've downloaded DP mass storage 7.0418 beta, slipstreamed it with DP Base and all other DriverPacks.

The BSOD has disappeared.
I can create a new partition. Format is OK. Files are copied OK.

Windows reboots and then the same BSOD occurs.

New install with hw configuration changed :

Gigabyte 965P-DS4 (new rev 3.3) + SATA HD on ICH8R controller (southbridge) + IDE (PATA) DVDROM (controlled by JMicron)

No BSOD during text mode. 1st part of install OK until reboot.

When in graphics mode, Windows can't find my DVD reader : Windows asks for "file" ASMS (subdir of i386) located on "GLOBALROOT\DEVICE\CDROM0\I386" but can't find it.

Any idea ?

Regards,
cirederf
