Ok, thanks.

I need some help (quickly if possible)
I installed all the device drivers on this system, istalled some updates for MCE 2005, restarted, now I have a Unknown 'USB Device' that shows up....
I am unable to find drivers or what the actual device is...

ATM I don't believe this driver is in your pack:
IC Plus Family IC+ 10/100 LAN v4.5.50202 (from Abit UL8 skt939 Mainboard)

Here is a direct link to the driver file:
http://www.abit-usa.com/downloads/downl … 550202.zip

I believe Bâshrat the Sneaky has already had the thought cross his mind about this issue.

I 2nd that motion

Method 1: uses CAB compressed files, which result in larger files to still allow windows to natively be able to unpack the archives.

Method 2: uses 7zip files which are extracted before the windows install starts, and have a higher compression, cesulting in smaller files.

...Method 2 is most used for UWXPCD's, because of the smaller driver sizes there is more room on a CD/DVD for other updates/programs or whatever.

Nice, thanks for adding the timeout.
I have confirmed that my system sux, and my original issue is something with my computer... i dont know though.
(    time for a format soon wink    ) I tested on my laptop with no issue. smile

I have another request, maybe the timeout could kick the user back to the 'Welcome' of the GUI, otherwise it gets caught in a loop of trying to check for updates, failing, then goes back to trying to update, causing a crash. (stupid windoze!)

again, no rush or urgency, just refining the code wink

EDIT: FYI dont know what exactly what is causing it, but I created a new XP User Profile and the Update feature works there just fine. *sigh* now I have to find out what is different/corrupt between the profiles..... Any quick tips 2 fix it B4 I hit it with a hammer?! tongue hehe

Sounds like an interesting feature, but by making you goto the site... you get to see the 'Donate' option much more! wink

But in the end, its all Bâshrat the Sneaky's call on that feature.

I wouldn't even know where to start to make the BSoD's cease to ail me. :-|

Well for instance, I've posted about the SIS964 SATA/RAID chipset in the past, it will BSoD for some reason with your pack, But if it is used from F6 it works without a hitch...... strange huh. I sent the 'correct' drivers b4, but we found out that they were the exact same one that was included..... so, i'm lost. But, I guess this wouldn't be needed if we could figure out what is causing the BSoD issues with this particular chipset.

Hmm...
I was actually refering to using BOTH, instead of one or the other...
As-is, using the '0' option, i can not use F6... but can have an unattended install.
using '1', i can use F6, but not unattended.

I know some ppl had a workaround on MSFN, but I would love to see the workaround be added to the GUI so the F6 can be used in conjunction with the '0', without all the hassle of having to custom modify the files.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts.
I usually always use a fresh source, but was doing some 'CP' tests wink

Reported.

I would love if there was a way for you to add a workaround into your base that would allow your MassStorage pack to work along side the F6 option, so that both are available.

I know there are many posts on how to manually add this.... but I'm just trying to put all my eggs in 1 basket and limit custom editing if i can.

I also checked and there are more .ORG backup files in I386 folder....
anyways, if it is not a typo... then I can only assume that the reason for the .ORG files are short for 'original'
... I'm just use to the .old naming..... but its your software wink

Keep up the excellent work!

I think this is a typo, but when a backup of the winnt.sif file is made... it renames it to winnt.ORG instead of winnt.OLD (like in previous versions). Although the feature in general works without a flaw, I just felt like pointing out the 'typo'.

The 'Updates Checker' feature of DriverPacks BASE seems to lock the entire program when trying to check for updates. I would assume because the completed site isn't fully functional, which is fine, but it would be nice to have some sort of timeout on it so it doesn't crash if the page isnt fully functional.

so, am I to assume that the forum will now contain the up-to-date links to the packs? or is the site going to be updated as well?

First of all, YAY! on my First Post on this forum!

... I dont know if this is known, but on driverpacks.net, the 'Projects' link points back to 'driverpacks.net' instead of going to the site where the driverpacks available.
