I had taken screenshots of the device manager in vista showing all devices in a functional state. Then I made partitions and installed XP on the laptop (P105-S6157). And my hunt for devices started there. I referred to the screenshots for the devic names and downloaded the drivers for the graphics chipset and wifi chipset from Intel - both of them work at first shot (go to support.intel.com and search for your chipset - it should be pretty straight forward). The wifi connection made my life a lot simpler. I struggled a lot on the 'Intel Pro/100 VE Network Connection' device - the driver from Intel does not work. Finally I found the driver on the Toshiba support site. I can't post the URL - it has a session id. The document is titled "Intel PRO 10/100 LAN driver update fixes security vulnerability" and the document id is 98082148. You need to download 'Intel100_os2006303a.exe'. It contains the correct driver. Most of the devices on the laptop are working now - still struggling with the Conexant Venice HD Audio driver.
