Generally, what you are asking is a violation of the Microsoft license agreement.  Depending on what country you are from, you may be breaking the law as well as those ISOs you refer to would be considered "Pirated".

Building the 'perfect' ISO is a long-term commitment and many have found it a rewarding experience to learn.
This person spent years refining the 'perfect XP DVD'.

I would recommend reading the fine tutorials found at MSFN.

For integrating update packs and hotfixes, you can read the pages here, here, or here.

For integrating drivers, may I humbly suggest our own beginners tutorial here.  This tutorial is under revision currently and may be updated to rc1 status soon.  Once final, it will probably be moved to the main page.

Thank you for your helpful post.  Most of these can be found with a quick google search, some of them are pretty obscure.  I'm sure the main team are already aware of all of these sites and hundreds more.

This has been discussed before.  Search for "Toshiba" and you'll find loads of relevent posts.  Toshiba offers poor XP support for these new laptops.  You can find drivers from other manufactures and modify them to work.

If you remove this, building a method 2 cannot work.

Are yopu sure about both of this?
For #1, I would assume the BASE re-sets the parametre properly (hence, you should always nLite before BASEing).

For #2, I was ripping that part out for a very long time to save valuable space on my CD (have moved to DVD now, if you remember), and seeing as I always used M2, I'm unsure about whether it would really break it.

Things may have changed in the past so I may not be up to date here wink
Anyway, it certainly does not hurt follwing your advice, I'm just uncertain whether it is absolutely vital...

I'm with Helmi on this one.  I have always used nlite to remove the "manual install and upgrade" option to save space and I always use DP_base method 2 and I've never had a problem.  I can understand why some people might have problems since that nlite option removes the capability for the "recovery console" as well as other options that might be needed prior to installing windows.

Actually, DP_base sets that parameter if it's not already set.  If the parameter is set already, DP_base will change it depending on your settings.
If I'm wrong, please correct me.
That's one of the reasons it's important to run DP_base last.

Agreed.  If you can get through to the Windows setup AND it can 'see' your hard drive (valid destination), then the text-mode drivers loaded correctly.

I've done something similar but not with W2K.  This is what I did, maybe it will help you, maybe not.

I cloned my failing IDE drive to another SATA drive using Acronis True Image.
Shutdown PC and disconnected all drives EXCEPT the SATA drive.
Reboot PC with WinXP CD, enter [r] for recovery console.
At prompt, type [fixboot], and [fixmbr]
Eject WinXP CD and reboot.
Presto!

I'm not sure how W2K would react to that, WinXP has generic drivers built-in.

If you use symantec firewall (like me), you have to disable it until the download is finished, then reenable it.
If you use another antivirus/firewall package, your settings may be different.
The problem is NOT with IE (firefox and opera are same) or your router

Just researching a vista64 driver issue for a friends notebook and came across newer Win9X/2K/XP/X64 drivers than what's in the current WLAN driverpack.

Ralink website has a release date of 12/22/2006 with versions:
RT61:1.2.0.0
RT2500:3.2.0.0

The WLAN driverpack (D\W\R\3)has versions:
RT61: 1.01.01.0000, 05/04/2006
RT2500: 3.02.00.0000, 06/01/2006

Sounds like you're having the same issues as the folks in this thread.

Have you tried installing KB888111 from M$?
I believe that fixes a bunch of HDAudio problems prior to installing drivers.

Did you read the post here?

If you're trying to integrate these driverpacks into and existing XP install...you can't do that.:(
You can however integrate these driverpacks into a WinXP source used to create a custom install CD/DVD.

I agree that a dedicated English tutorial should be added to the main page under the existing title "Tutorials".
@Bâshrat the Sneaky, would you like me to create one?  Lots of pictures?

Agreed,  Nobody seems interested in testing the beta-pack or validating it's inclusion in the main pack.

Did you delete your DP Base .ini file prior to integration?  It's the "could not find settings file" log entry that got me.
Try stepping through and set all the settings and then integrating.  If you still have issues, please post your .ini file as well.

It's always possible that your DriverPack Chipset 6.12 pack is corrupted.  Try downloading a fresh copy and try again.

He's built you a custom driverpack and has asked about 4 times for people to test it but it seems nobody is listening.
