Just to inform everyone of the issue and how I resolved it, it turns out when using imagex to mount the boot image you need to specify 2 rather than 1 after the image path.  Once I did that I had a successful boot image that can be used with WDS.

Example:

imagex /mountrw "\\servername\REMINST\Boot\x64\Images\boot.wim" 2 mount

I just started working with WDS and decided to come see about Vista support again and was pleasantly surprised that my suggestion took off so popularly.  I've been trying to get my Precision M4400 with Intel 825xx Gigabit Ethernet to recognize but have had no luck so far even after integrating drivers from Dell.  I'm not sure what is going on there.

NP, I did it before I looked to see that you had already started thinking about making a new one anyway.  I've been using your driver packs for years and hopefully you have gotten some donations from the guides I have postedn recently.  I always try to post very minimal information in my guides so that people will actually go to the author's sites and learn all the neat stuff themselves, plus they may pay tribute.

The screenshots will definitely be cool.

What exact changes do you mean? Some changes to the DriverPacks BASE tutorial? I'm very sorry, but the GUI is entirely different, so I don't see the use of actively linking to those pages. You can restore it if you want to, but please put a BIG warning on top of it...

I basically rewrote the whole thing for the GUI version.  Take a look at it when you have a chance, I have restored it.

When you have the new guide up please post here so I can make the change in the forums I posted the link in.  This way everyone can use your version when it is done.

@Bashrat -

Did you remove the uAwiki entirely?  I noticed that the changes I made for the GUI version are now gone.  I had pointed people from other forums to that help file so that I wouldn't be posting directions on other forums that could change with file revisions.

If you did, do you mind if I revert back so that people can use it until a new help file is developed?

So is the uAwiki officially abandoned?  I just updated it recently for the new GUI based 6.06.1.

I figured it would be on the horizon.  I guess the main point was "Hey it's out just in case you didn't know"!  That way we can have something working by the time it goes Gold.

If no one has used it yet, it is worth noting that there is NO text mode setup anymore!  The whole process is GUI based, but I am erroring out at 7% with the 80070241 Error Code.  I'll try a different PC when I get home.

Has anyone tried using the driverpacks with Vista?  Now that it is available to the public for download I wanted to know if it will work with the driverpacks, and if not request that a future version might do so.

Thanks.
