Ok, I'd like to update my ISO of  my slipstreamed XP CD with the new driver packs, to test this.  I have little to no idea on how to do so. Can someone link me to instructions or tell me what I need to know?  My CD ISO has has the driverpacks in it already, but I did not make the distrib.

Haven't gotten anything yet?  :-(

I would love to test this!  Can you shoot me a link for the files I need, and tell me how to update the XP distrib I have with it?  I have a 3112r as noted.

The only way we can assure you this problem is now fixed, is by you testing it. Nothing is sure in the world of drivers, I can tell you that much by now wink

I'd love to test it!  I just don't know what I need to do? How do I update my distrib as noted?  I've never done anything with the driverpacks, the ISO of the image I'm using, has the driverpacks in them.  So this is over my head.  Have the files that are previously noted, been released for download yet?  And again how do I actually use them on the CD...  Thanks!

So, since I'm a total noob to the driverpacks.. I'm assuming what you're saying is the next version of the driverpack now will "solve" the BSOD with a 3112r ?  Do you know if it also solves the two different drives in a RAID 1 mirror setup, showing up as seperate partitions in the first stage of setup?   This was the other problem this distrib caused that others have seen including myself.

Also, if if this is fixed in the newest driverpack... how do I update my "eXPirence" DVD windows distrib to include this new pack?  See my previous post on page 3 for details on my distrib...

anybody?
:-D

Bump!  It's nice to see others having the same problem as me!  For a while I thought I was alone on this till I found this forum!
Hi guys, total newb here to driverpacks and slipstreamed windows installs...  So bare with me...  My friend gave me a slipstreamed disc he made, it's entitled the "eXPirence" edition... It has the driverpacks from here in it.

I have a 3112r raid control controlling two identical SATA discs running in RAID1 Mirrored.  The raid controller is an offboard PCI card.  I actually have two different cards with the same 3112r chipset... I've had the same issue with both of them.  Using this DVD to install windows on this array causes two issues which match identically with the problems mentioned here...

1.  When windows brings up my drive list, I see both of my drives as separate partitions, instead of just one - like it's recognizing the array discs uniquely instead of as one mirrored array.
2.  When windows is done copying files to the drive and performs it's first reboot, I get the 0x7B BSOD.

Doing F6 with this distrib on initial setup, seems to be ignored.  It still uses the driver on the DVD instead.  I  can use my floppy with the latest (I think it's .56) driver using other windows distribs and it works ok.

Here are my hardware ID's. I created a temporary install of windows to run the hardware ID tool hoping maybe it will help others out...

What I'm curious on mainly, is what do I have to do with this install, in order to replace the drivers on the CD, with either a newer driverpack, OR  - the ones I got from SiL aka my F6 floppy? I've seen reference to replacing the sil3112r.sy_ file with the .sys file I have from my floppy and reburning the DVD... is it that simple ?  Do I simply just delete the existing .sy_ file, and then copy in the .sys file to replace it off my floppy?  Does it need to be a cab compresed, or renamed as .sy_, or anything like that?  AS I mentioned this is all a little over my head...  Am I better off just getting a newer driverpack and if so... how do I add it to this distrib I already have?

Thanks in advance everyone!
