can you please post your HWIDs juanpaul?

For sure, here the HWIDs of VirtualBox with Virtual IDE and SATA Interface (have do that on GUI-mode setup).

(VEN_8086&DEV_2829 is the SATA Controller - the data is much like the HWIDs posted by Outbreaker):

can you test a pack for us if need be?

Of course, you can count on me.

ATTENTION: I don't know if this is an issue with VirtualBox SATA Controller (which emulates Intel ICH8M-AHCI - HWID 8086:2829) or with Intel Driver. Need that someone test the Intel Drivers versions posted above in real Intel Hardware.

I use VirtualBox to test my Windows XP disks and I'm having random BSoD when installing windows (after the start of GUI-mode setup - the 39 minutes - during the "detecting hardware") on VirtualBox SATA controller, works fine with VirtualBox IDE.

I'm running VirtualBox 3.2.6 on Ubuntu 10.04.
The VirtualBox HWID is 8086:2829 (Intel ICH8M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller).
My Windows guest installation is Windows XP Professional with SP3.

I've tried theses versions of DriverPack MassStorage (NT5):
9.01 - OK
10.06 - BSoD
10.07.08 (Nightly build) - BSoD

Additionally, I tried theses "floppy disks" from Intel website, all of them, except 7.8.0.1012, stopped at same stage on GUI-mode setup:
7.8.0.1012 - OK
8.2.2.1001 - BSoD
8.6.0.1007 - BSoD
8.7.0.1007 - BSoD
8.8.0.1009 - BSoD
8.9.0.1023 - BSoD
9.6.0.1014 - BSoD

If anyone can repeat theses tests on real Intel hardware with the same ID (8086:2829) to confirm if the problem is with the Intel Drivers.
