Woo Hoo. Look at me! LOL

I think that is EXACTLY the warning you should use big_smile big_smile big_smile !

this utility linked to and described in this thread works entirely without DriverPacks BASE or any of it's components.

(the version of SAD in DriverPacks BASE is version one, my original version, works for NT5 only [XP])

SAD 3 (this thread) will work from CD, DVD, HDD, USB HDD, USB thumb or... basically any other local source.

You MUST put the proper files in the proper format in the correct folders... or it will fail.
You can't mix (or mix up) compressed mode and uncompressed mode folders. It won't work.

If you follow the directions then it will work, I am confident about this statement.
If it fails then you have strayed from the path somewhere... but where???
IDK! You won't tell me what you did...

Great to see you here again 5eraph, we kept the lights on for ya too big_smile!

One more time, because i think it's fun TD.
Windows is a synonym for malware, everyone already knows if you run windows you get viruses. youre whipping the dead horse again... LOL. You want security run Linux / Unix. You can try to make the argument that supported MS OS's are less likely to be infected than older ones, but good luck with that. ROFL.

I think you should put a positive spin on it.

We have gone to great lengths to protect you from evil forces, nothing is perfect, please make backup / recovery options part of your program. (this applies to everything not just old windows OS's.

it is important that the drivers are correctly staged...

location of packs, method desired, steps you took, and log

DriverPacks BASE does this for XP automatically if you select Method 1 (or M1) to add your drivers to XP.

It's that time of year again. Wim who was barely a teenager when he started this project is now a college graduate and a successful young man. Those of us who have who have had the privilege of being around from the beginning know what a wonderful, kind and intelligent person he has always been.

Happy birthday Wim, I hope you have 100 more big_smile!

he said

NO drivers were installed (none) <- important

nLite although problematic is probably not the issue. Testing without that step is valid and necessary.

Clean source available - always good. Probably not the issue.

------

What packs did you include?
There is an issue we are aware of that NO drivers (none) are installed if TOO MANY packs are slipstreamed into the source.

I can't belive that we are on post 15 and nobody has requested your DPs_BASE.log. Please include yours in code tags. please see your previous post that i added code tags to if you need an example of how to do that.

I bet it's the too many packs issue big_smile, but what do i know tongue

-----

try to slipstream with only main packs... (no third party packs... just to test my theory)
if that works we can show you the fix we call S.A.D., which makes us happy big_smile.

you should have the folders

$OEM$-for my settings
OEM- driver packs

if you selected M2 in DriverPacks BASE

why not approach us i wonder.....

I believe that techdud calls them from the main packs, if they exist...

edit for clarity. ----

The INI entries for those packs are included in the INI for the corresponding main dp

The INI in the main DriverPacks will run the correct / needed files from the 3rd party DriverPack
IF : 3rd party DriverPack AND main DriverPacks are both included.

Hi

Is there any to skip 7zip extraction in method 2? I want to do the extraction myself before running the cmd file.

the answer to your question is NO... There is no way to skip extraction with method two...
that is the definition of method two (M2) using compressed drivers.

uncompressed drivers or extracted drivers is method one (M1).

so no you can't do uncompressed with M2 because that would be M1 and not M2.

For the record you can't use the .7z archives with method one either.

yes they do.... And on purpose

there is a detailed post on that around here that i am not in the mood to search for. big_smile
I lied apparently i am in the mood

Mass 10.01.24 nightly Jeff aka OverFlow (Jan 24 2010)
Link Retired

updates applied to JakeLD's 909r6 (1 September 2009)

updated
Replacement drivers that were missing HWIDs
(If a driver is a replacement it MUST replace all HWIDs supported by the previous driver .

dpti2o  [AD4]
- verified

adpu160m [AD5]
- restored hwid
PCI\VEN_9005&DEV_0081

symc8xx [C] ms_1
- need special case for a single driver that replaces two or more native drivers...
- Fixed, simply assign no HWIDs to one or more (ms_X) section(s)
- combined old ms_2 and ms_3 into ms_1
symc810 [C] ms_2
- see above. replaced.
sym_hi  [C] ms_3
- ms_2 is also replaced
-- see section for example!

------- snip ----------  ------------ snip ----------

the replacement driver with NO HWID needs removed becuase it is included with another driver... by adding a driver with no HWID BASE will instead of replacing a native driver, will remove it. This was neccessary because ONE of our DriverPacks drivers replaces THREE windows included (native) drivers. Again... That section replaces three native drivers with one replacement. IE The three windows included drivers symc8xx, symc810, sym_hi were all replaced by CPQ32FS2 and the first section contains all the HWIDS for all three drivers (because they are all supported by the one driver now)

Don't try to figure it out ... let us do that tongue.  I'm not surprised it stumped you... I had a really fun time coming up with a workaround / fix for that.

Thanks for paying attention!

Jeff

the short story is that the CPQ file replaces three native drivers (included with windows).
In order to replace three drivers with one I had to invent a workaround.

two of those files should not appear in a final build... someone broke my fix, I think
if i remember correctly only symc8xx.sy_ should make it into your final.

Did you break mass storage techdud?
here is the testing team link to the original post http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=4305

because mass storage for PE is text mode... PnP doesn't have sh*t to do with it big_smile.

the log confirms that the plugin is created. (BASE only makes plugins).
2014-12-05 15:42:46 : <SLIP> Copied DriverPack MassStorage text mode driver files to BartPE Plugin folder.
2014-12-05 15:42:46 : <SLIP> Slipstreamed DriverPack MassStorage text mode driver files.

integration is performed by PEBuilder. - We assume that no errors were reported by PEBuilder or he would not have gotten to the create ISO stage in PEBuilder. that log would describe errors with integration.

It is also important that the source is not modified. Clean / unmodified Microsoft XP or 2K3 source .

WLAN was always an issue with BartPE, the pack is not the problem in most cases. that does have to do with HWPnP

Even if there are multiple packs in the driverpacks folder it will only use the newest one of each type big_smile.

7b is definitely a mass storage error. I see you used xp sp3 as your source which I do all the time, however it is worth noting that BartPE only supports XP SP2 as it's source...

Try a different mass storage pack version and rebuild. (newer or older, remembering BASE only will use the newest one in its packs folder... one at a time makes it easier to keep track big_smile)

mass lan and wlan are good basic packs for plugins, sometimes i have better luck with 2k3 source than XP.

in most cases we tend to use our packs as a collection.
I would personally use a full set every time. mass, lan, wlan, chipset, graphics, sound...
Therefore i would never see your issue. In theory drivers will only appear in one pack.
since the nVidia LAN driver is part of the nVidia chipset driver it is in the chipset pack. (as it should be)

but...

we do make them so you can customize them. you could in theory add the missing chipset drivers to your lan pack and have your very own custom driverpack.

I would just use both chipset and lan and call it a day... that's just me

Jeff

Techdud was the one who said chipset.

I just realized that you did not mention using it.  ... [Ding] a little bell goes off.

It's a team effort big_smile

you make an excellent point Tech... perhaps his mistake was that he was only using the LAN pack, perhaps the fix is using the CHIPSET pack big_smile! (this is an onboard NIC?)

the hwids tool in my signature is not available ATM i am having issues with my server (migrating to s new platform).

you listed the names which are useless to us. we need the HWIDs.

here is a temporary link http://www.mediafire.com/download/uj4x6 … eHwids.exe

Thanks again, you have helped us to help you, and others in your shoes.

Totally awesome!

Jeff

PS I updated the title to [REQ] so we can get it added big_smile!

what was the link for the graphics driver?

Thanks for posting the link and HWID!!!

did you try using our packs... was it missing?

Please post your HWIDs for the device

did you follow the links in mr_smartepants post?

did you try using our packs?

that is the best source we have to locate unknown drivers.

hopefully you already tried our packs and it's missing, and you will return with a link to the missing unit, so we can add it big_smile

See post 3...

We're a little light on manpower ATM.  Yes we have plans, we need time... yours, mine and ours.

Welcome to DriverPacks.net asifjohan,

As stated on the page that you downloaded it from the support site for Driver Pack Solution is http://community.drp.su/

This is DriverPacks.net, We support our software and packs here.

We are not able to provide support for projects that we are not involved with.

Have a great day.

i can test a new driver big_smile. Just be aware that we cant have both new and old. if a report is made make sure that the firmware is up to date before attacking the pack, the driver may not be the real issue tongue
