I have no idea what that'll do, but it'll probably do.

I checked it out and it appears that this greatly increases the amount of resources required, due to the amount of e-mails that would have to be sent. Therefore I will add RSS support in the near future instead of what you requested, that should forfil your needs equally, without increasing the load of the server (or at least by a much lesser degree).

That's not a redesign, but a forum modification. I'll see what I can do though.

I'd like to see a user control panel, where I can set "subscribe to posts I have started/ or answered in" to ON

Actually, the default should be ON,on BOTH, in my not so humble opinion, and I will tell you why.

a great many forae see people never return because they are never notified there was a response.
