			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Hi</p><p>I recognize that much of this thread is above my understanding. I hope I am not getting in the way. I still hope to help; if only in testing.</p><p>I requested I integrated the updated packs:<br />&nbsp; &nbsp;DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_1209<br />&nbsp; &nbsp;DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1209<br />into a custom XP SP3 CD and tried again. I deleted the QSC store before integration.</p><p>This time I tested on a Dell Optiplex 3010 desktop (that had been running Windows 7 successfully) with the SATA Operation mode set in the BIOS to AHCI.</p><p>I have the same BSOD issue as before.</p><p>I aim to test on the original Dell Latitude E6400 on Monday.</p><p>At this point what will help you? What information would be beneficial to have? Shall I gather the HWID&#039;s from the Dell Optiplex 3010 or just stick to the Dell Latitude E6400 for testing.</p><p>Best Wishes<br />Matt</p>]]></content>

Oh well.</p><p>When I run DPs_BASE_1006.exe and use the check for updates on DriverPacks feature it tells me I&#039;m up to date (retested before the post).</p><p>That&#039;s how I missed the latest version. I&#039;ll check manually as well from now on. Much appreciated.</p><p>I&#039;ll try to figure out where the update DriverPacks feature is going wrong for me.</p><p>Thanks again. 			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I&#039;m new here but from what I can gather my experience may be related and helpful to this issue.</p><p>I had a BSOD on a Dell Latitude E6400 laptop when the BIOS set SATA Operation to AHCI mode and I used my DriverPacked XP CD.</p><p>I am using DPs_BASE_1006.exe and DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1109, DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_1209</p><p>When I eventually figured out it was the hard drive controller driver and that I needed the relevant AHCI driver to be within the DriverPack; I used the following method to get around it.</p><p>* In BIOS I switched to SATA Operation to ATA mode.<br />* Installed windows from my DriverPacked XP DVD.<br />* Booted windows, forced a driver change to AHCI to what I hoped was the correct AHCI driver then rebooted and switched the BIOS SATA Operation back to AHCI.<br />* All seems good now.</p><p>I didn&#039;t explore the Intel Rapid Restore Technology (IRRT) mentioned in the BIOS as another SATA Operation mode.</p><p>DriverPacks is very helpful and I want to help if I can. <br />The driver I found and the technical information is below.</p><p>HWID.txt<br /></p><div class="codebox"><pre><code>===========

Version.txt</code></pre></div><p>When I force switched the drivers to AHCI, I unpacked the files above, right clicked on the INF&#039;s and selected install. Then in Device manager when selecting the driver from the list I choose:<br /></p><div class="codebox"><pre><code>Intel(R) ICH9M/M-E Family 4 port SATA AHCI Controller - 2929</code></pre></div><p>I have no idea if they are &quot;signed&quot; or otherwise suitable for DriverPack inclusion consideration.</p><p>This is what I saw in the device properties but I am unsure whether this comes from the hardware or the device driver I installed for the hardware.<br /></p><div class="codebox"><pre><code>PCI\VEN_8086&amp;DEV_2929&amp;SUBSYS_02331028&amp;REV_03\3&amp;61AAA01&amp;0&amp;FA</code></pre></div><p>I haven&#039;t been able to test the external eSATA port which was the main reason for enabling AHCI (it wont work in ATA), so I still have my fingers crossed.</p><p>Please let me know how/if I can help further or you feel I might have not made the correct choices above.
