Moving thread to Win7 area...

I have an HP Compaq nx6125 on which I installed Windows 7 64 bits (base system was Windows XP 64 bits), and had some serious problems to find the right audio driver.

I've been crawling the whole web for a solution (this forum included), but all I could find was the driver for Windows 7 32 bits, as it did install, but was not working properly.

The correct driver can be found directly on the HP drivers website, by using the drivers for the Windows Vista 64-bits version:

Also, most of the other drivers on the link I provided works for Windows 7 64-bit, except the ATI video drivers which won't work (I have yet to find a solution, even the drivers on the official ATI website don't work, but anyway video is generically managed by Windows 7 so it's ok).

Last related note: the latest Synaptics drivers on the Synaptics website work for the touchpad.

/EDIT: Here's the driver that installed but couldn't start (maybe it will work for Windows 7 32-bit, or else just try the drivers on the official HP website for Windows Vista 32-bit):
