It's up to the developer to support the current system and it's actually become easier for a 3rd party Developer to support it!

I've been doing this for quite some time now. It is possible to do but there are several extra steps you need to take and a few gotchas here and there as well. So I wrote a program to do it for you. Just click the link in my sig.
