			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>try a linux live CD like <a href="http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php">linuxMint</a> to confirm.&nbsp; Be aware that you may need to manually adjust the volume upon startup.&nbsp; Heck, if it works, you might not even need Windows.</p><p>Do &#039;old-school&#039; headphones work in any OS?</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>In English?&nbsp; </p><p>Do you have dual boot on your laptop (win XP&nbsp; and win 7) ?</p><p>If so, does the sound work in win 7 ?&nbsp; If it does it could be drivers stopping sound in XP.&nbsp; But from what I&#039;ve read it sounds more like the sound card has failed.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>You have to remember that XP is not supported on those new HP systems, though their driver clearly does work on XP.<br />Your best bet is to restore the system back to factory defaults and use Win7.&nbsp; It&#039;s 1000% better than XP.<br />If the sound still doesn&#039;t work in Win7 then contact HP for warranty repair.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>You might consider researching HP&#039;s forum for answers.<br />If this fails, you could try using <span style="color: royalblue">mr_smartepants</span>&#039; <a href="http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=5336">SAD2 utility</a> &amp; the appropriate <a href="http://driverpacks.net/driverpacks/latest">driverpack</a>.&nbsp; <img src="http://forum.driverpacks.net/img/smilies/smile.png" width="15" height="15" alt="smile" /></p><p>DriverPacks also allow people to add drivers to their original install media, creating new media with updated drivers.&nbsp; DPs_BASE works for Windows XP media.</p>]]></content>
