To extract, first extract with 7zip (etc.) on a secondary drive, then launch a Command Prompt for the resultant folder, then enter "FLUSB3.0-3.5.73.0.exe" /extract:c:\temp\FL3573 to extract to a subfolder in the current directory (i am ignorant of the proper syntax.  My bad)

Ah, I see what the download problem is now. You need to run IE as an administrator for the catalog.update.microsoft.com site to work. That's just dumb!
Rule #1 for safe internet browsing is "Never run ANY browser as an admin".

Anyway, got the downloads. They'll be in the next RC.

i note no problem downloading with IE8. Windows Catalog also lists this driver as supporting Win8 Community Preview. I thought USB3.0 stack was native to Win8. Curious.
