That's the problem, I had to return the laptop a few days ago (Tuesday) due to it being a priority job.
I would have been willing to test, but by the time it was posted, the laptop had already been approved and called on to be picked up.
If anyone has a Gateway E-265M to test with, that was the exact model I used and they could test the two different driver packs.
I, unfortunately, am not a laptop guy.

Well, we NEVER advocate the use of nlite to inject drivers (it's messy and breaks the DriverPacks).
I'll move your HWID to the [I2] section. Can you test the pack I'll upload in about an hour?

I used nLite to add the drivers. I have no idea how to do it manually

But yeah, MassStorage failed to work for text mode drivers in this instance. Unfortunately, I'll be returning the laptop to the customer today as the work is done on it, so hopefully that's enough information for you guys to work with. I'll still keep an eye on the post.

Yes, that's very odd that dpms 11.06 didn't work for you. The driver that is selected during txtmode for your HWID is from the \I3 folder (version 7.8.0.1012). The driver supplied by Gateway is in folder \I2 (7.0.0.1020) a much older driver.
Yet once XP is installed, the much newer driver is loaded:

We can't even begin to assist without you specifying the hardware... HWID tool in my signature

given the missing info it is likely that we can tell you why it failed on that machine.

as far as your apprehension about using DriverPacks... we have millions of users installing on hundreds of millions of PC's... we get less than one report a month about failures... (odds of failure are less than a million to one) So you need not worry. Your odds of hitting the lottery are better than having a failed driver install. Additionaly we ususally very quickly address reported issues like yours, so there is even less of a need to be concerned. Apparently you are new on the scene, our project is very well known and widely respected.

Ok, now that I figured out what I wanted to call the topic, here's the issue I thought I'd bring up.

I used DriverPacksBase 10.06, and the latest MassStorage driverpack 1106.
Slipstreamed the driverpack into the XP Base, used nlite to create the ISO, burned it, and proceeded to boot onto a Gateway E-265M, however the HDD wasn't found.
Went to gateway's site and picked up the drivers, and then took the already modified Bootable ISO folder (with nlite) and added the F6 floppy drivers.

It picked up the hard drive without a problem.
Curious, I unpacked the 7z file for the MassStorage drivers to it's own folder, and proceeded to double check all the VEN/DEV combinations between the
provided TXTSETUP.OEM file that came with the F6 Floppy drivers from Gateway with the ini file located in the MassStorage driver pack.
Strange thing is, they're all accounted for.

Why did driverpack not work in this case? (Yes, followed instructions perfectly regarding DriverPackBase as well as making sure I integrated the textmode drivers.
Does anyone have any thoughts? I tend to work on different computers a lot as part of my work and some of it involves AHCI/RAID controllered laptops where
I'm unable to force it to IDE mode. Not sure if this gives enough information, but I'm kind of hesitant to use driverpacks and make a full all-in-one CD if I'm going
to have an issue with WinXP OEM installs every time.
