odd as i have the new 11.11 and it still have issue with IDT that is in the dell. it shows up but there is an exclamation mark.

That seems to be a SigmaTel (acquired by IDT) "9200 HD Audio Codec".
Please post your real HWID's, not someone else's.

If you're unclear on how to use DriverPacks, I recommend reading our tutorial (linked in my signature) as a starting point. It's about 2 years out of date, but many things have not changed much since then.

why not build a disc with all the key ones.

like mass storage, chipset, lan, wlan (which can be a right pain on Dell machines) , graphics, sound, and the new 3rd party HID (as its a laptop) ALL here..

I am new on this site as of today. I have looked for the fix, and can't find it. I would also like to know if that fix applies to Win XP. I bought a used Dell laptop via Dell Auction. Originally is was installed with Vista. I installed XP, and using the Dell Driver Downloads function, it does not give me an option for my Sound. Please help me understand if the driver will work, and where it's located. Thank you Mr Smartepants.
