the main reason, as you have already guessed, is to keep any one pack from getting huge...

the logic is two fold... your bandwith and ours ;D

Could you add the short piece of info regarding the separation of sound drivers you wrote in this thread http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 315#p41315 to the about page which describes the history of the driverpacks and explains each of them, so that people who will have the same question will get the answer more quickly than by analyzing the driver listings ?

Whichever pack you didn't include will be the one you need for the computer you are currently working on.

Our goal has always been to include ALL drivers so they will be available for your installation... With that in mind the logical thing to do is to include ALL our packs... Then you will always have the drivers you need... If you really want to know what is in a pack that info is provided on the download pages .

The combo driver combines those two drivers into the one package and adds support for the new VT8235 southbridge. In addition further improvements have been made in subsequent release. Please refer to the file under installation instructions" in the table below for further information.

Thank you for taking the time to answer although I know it's not a prioritary question on the forum. Now I understand better what the two sound driver packs contain and why many people choose to integrate both.

No, the sound DriverPacks don't follow that kind of pattern. But I love the idea.
Sound A for "Add-in" cards and Sound B for "Built-in" chips.
Hmmm, I wonder what the file separation would be...

For now, DriverPack Sound A has Creative, Realtek & Via. DriverPack Sound B supports all others. It seemed appropriate at the time.

Hi.

First of all, thanks for such a great work and I'm sorry but I can't even find a job here so I can't donate yet.

The man was asking a normal question... when one sees two things labeled A and B one thinks they are separated like that for a reason. Maybe they are grouped like that because you don't want a single archive to get too large, or maybe the second pack comprises drivers that are needed more rarely ?

DP Graphics separation has a decent explanation on the About page, maybe Sound can have one too. I've looked through the driver lists and can't figure out, but it would be useful to know if eg. DP Sound A is for dedicated sound boards and DP Sound B for integrated chips.

Hey you ask this question thats I like and I think its 2 cd set so I think its like Sound A and Sound B driver pack and that is way its content is different. and I think it covers almost drivers.
