			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I appreciate your grit &amp; determination.&nbsp; Yes, the SATA RAID controller should show up with a different PnP ID.</p><p>I had nothing but trouble (&amp; bluescreens <img src="http://forum.driverpacks.net/img/smilies/roll.png" width="15" height="15" alt="roll" />) trying to get 7.x64 onto a DFI nForce 4 Ultra-D with an AMD-X2(now SLI &amp; SATA2 RAID - thanks to adding a solder bridge on chipset &amp; modding bios for latest RAID utility <img src="http://forum.driverpacks.net/img/smilies/cool.png" width="15" height="15" alt="cool" />).&nbsp; 7 didn&#039;t even want to install @ first (thanx to nv&#039;s lack of logo&#039;d SATA RAID drivers, etc).</p><p>It turned out that i needed a special boot cd to even get that far.&nbsp; Even after solving the SATA RAID logo issue (many, many thanks to Fernando 1!), the bluescreen issue reared it&#039;s ugly head.&nbsp; It turned out that the issue was somehow related to the SMB driver.</p><p>My brother doesn&#039;t even realize how indebted to F1 he is, yet i&#039;m very thankful, as i was able to save face after gifting (for his birthday) what looked, at first, like defective hw.</p><p>I SLAVED a whole day over a hot (under-the-collar) employer (actually he was rather jovial) , to be able to afford the X2 &amp; the 20x10x7 cm cooler mister 6-heatpipe cooler! <img src="http://forum.driverpacks.net/img/smilies/big_smile.png" width="15" height="15" alt="big_smile" />&nbsp; I don&#039;t want to turn this post into a bash-nv&#039;fest (that would be TOO easy - g86 <em>BUMPGATE</em>).</p><p>I wonder what mobo &amp; SiI BIOS you are using&nbsp; <strong><span style="color: blue">beamish</span></strong>.&nbsp; &nbsp;<a href="http://www.siliconimage.com/support/searchresults.aspx?pid=28&amp;cat=15&amp;os=0">http://www.siliconimage.com/support/sea … 5&amp;os=0</a><br />BEWARE, incorrectly applied BIOS modifications can render your hardware INOPERATIVE!&nbsp; You may think you know what you are doing, yet still end up with &#039;dead&#039; hardware.&nbsp; It NEVER hurts to ask questions (sometimes it&#039;s the answer that hurts!:rolleyes:)&nbsp; Is your SiI RAID card BIOS socketed? 			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Yes, that answers it.<br />A successful textmode (blue screen) setup allows you to see the drives and partitions attached to your controllers.<br />A successful desktop load means the installation progresses correctly with no errors and you see the drives and partitions attached to your controllers in &quot;My Computer&quot; once installation is complete.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Ok.....self teaching is a wonderful thing.&nbsp; Lets see if I got this right.&nbsp; Text mode is when windows xp boots up to first configuring the PC and it is looking at the partitions to see what you have?&nbsp; In this case it is ok otherwise I would have not been able to see the raid partition that I wanted to install it in.&nbsp; I have 5 drives, 2 in a raid which it saw and it also saw a total of 4 disks(actual 5 counting raid) with partitions which is what I have on the nf4 array.</p><p>In the desktop I saw all the drives with their partitions on the desktop when I clicked on my computer everything that was connected with nf4 was there.</p><p>I hope I have clarified that correctly?&nbsp; If not please let me know.&nbsp; Thanks</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Ok so after a week of restarting my machine and in 2 cases reloading it I have tested all 18 versions of these test packs.</p><p>1.&nbsp; Not ok.&nbsp; Hangs at starting windows after loading drivers.<br />2.&nbsp; Ok<br />3.&nbsp; Ok but no massstorage driver<br />4&nbsp; Not ok.&nbsp; Did&#039;nt load Nvraid driers sees my usb flash drive only<br />5.&nbsp; Not ok.&nbsp; BSOD after loading drivers<br />6.&nbsp; Ok.&nbsp; No massstorage driver<br />7.&nbsp; Not ok.&nbsp; Fails at 75% installing devices reboots &amp; keeps trying.<br />8.&nbsp; Not ok.&nbsp; BSOD after loading drivers<br />9.&nbsp; Not ok.&nbsp; Sees usb drive only<br />10.&nbsp; Not ok.&nbsp; Fails after loading system. reboots and trys again.&nbsp; Fails even in safe mode<br />11.&nbsp; Not ok.&nbsp; BSOD after load<br />12.&nbsp; Not ok.&nbsp; Usb flash only<br />13.&nbsp; Not ok.&nbsp; Usb flash only<br />14.&nbsp; Not ok.&nbsp; Usb flash only<br />15.&nbsp; Not ok.&nbsp; Can&#039;t see array.<br />16.&nbsp; Not ok.&nbsp; Didn&#039;t load nvraid<br />17.&nbsp; Definitely not ok.&nbsp; WARNING. Sees array but selection of disks for preparation are in different arrangement.&nbsp; When I selected my C: drive to delete partition it deleted both C and E partitions on this array.&nbsp; <br />18.&nbsp; Not ok.&nbsp; Doesn&#039;t see array.&nbsp; Goes directly to repair windows.</p><p>This has been very tasking in testing these disks.&nbsp; In some cases I have rebuilt them and tested them twice with same results.&nbsp; However if there is anything else that you wish me to do please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate.</p>]]></content>
