I got the same problem and it was resolved after going through http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. … 58597.html and doing R & D about Think Pad T43.

Also I got a message about "Found New Multimedia Audio Controller" and aske me about a software to install.
How can I get a software or so?

Thank you,
I installed SoundMAX and Driver Matrix(?)as you avised,but still no sound,however
the volume buttons on the keyboard started to work.
I went to the control panel,Sounds and Audio devices and still I have "No audio device".
Pleasd advise ,how to restore a sound.

Not sure if iI nstalled the right DRiver matrix,please advise what file do I have to install from http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. … 58597.html

ThinkPad T43 uses SoundMAX not Realtek

Remember installer extracts then you need to run setup from c:\drivers to install

No sound for T43 Thinkpad

Hello guys,

I tried to reformat my t43,but after the reformating I lost my audio driver

Tried to instal 1ya210ww.exe/realtek audio driver without any luck.

Tried to instal WDM406/realtek audio driver /.got same,but during the an installation I got a message,that

the driver didn't pass Windows logo and the installation was stopped.

Also
I installed revommended soft ThinkVantage System Update software,but nothing happened,still no sound at all.

Do you have any ideas how can I restore the sound on T43?
