Not a stupid question at all...

Vista and Win7 are both NT6... (NT6.0 and NT6.1)

Most drivers are NT6.x compatible, not all, but most.
Win7 is supposed to be fully compatible with any NT6.0 (Vista) drivers.

if you can't find a certain driver for win7 go ahead and feed it a vista driver and it should work

when we laid out the forum, and Wim laid out the main site, none of us were certain that they would be fully compatible, it turns out they are.

Since Wim is in college he is very busy and rarely has time to update the site...
He is going to fix the site when he has time so that it reads NT 6.x Vista AND Win 7 packs.

For the time being just ignore the fact that there are two separate sections and simply use the vista drivers for both OS's

the vista packs do include BOTH Win7 and Vista drivers (95% of the time they are the same driver anyway)

excellent question!

Welcome to DriverPacks
Have an awesome day!

Jeff

OK, stupid question...but the driver packs in the main downloads section for Vista will work for Windows 7 right?

Just sorta new to this, and want to clarify this for myself and others in the future.

Because the download section does not mention Win 7 anywhere, only Vista.
Ie:

http://driverpacks.net/driverpacks/latest
"Windows Vista (x64) DriverPacks"
Thats all that it says the packs are for...Vista

But in the forum, the threads state:
"Vista / 7 x64 Chipset DriversPack"
And they are the same version numbers and direct download locations from what i gather.

Just looking for clarification for future use, and to keep other newbs like myself from wondering the same thing

Anyways, keep up the awesome work all...DriverPacks.net rocks!
What a life saver..
