Thanks for replying, so then shouldn't it have autodetected it? I checked the subdir you indicated, and the .inf in that folder doesn't have an exact signature that matches Ven_14e4_dev_1646_sub_01b31028

So, how can I modify it and then rebuild the ubcd4win iso?

I finally got this working. Heres what i did.

First i used the updated driver pack here (cannot say if these steps will work with the standard driver pack. ) Placed the pack in C:\UBCD4Win\plugin\DriverPacks.net\BASE\DriverPacks. I downloaded the Broadcom RIS driver from http://www.broadcom.com/support/etherne … 2-2003-RIS and placed the files in C:\UBCD4Win\drivers\Net\bcm5708c

I ran the driver pack slipstream util to make it extract and build all the driverpack files. I then did some digging.

I searched the LAN drivers folder for the text "bcm5708c_des" I found 3 INF Files that contain driver information for this card, bxdiag.inf, bxnd.inf, and bxvbd.inf. I went in and renamed these 3 files to .inold (files were located in C:\UBCD4Win\plugin\DriverPacks.net\LAN\wnt5)

I then went up one level to C:\UBCD4Win\plugin\DriverPacks.net\LAN and I removed the following lines from LAN.inf and saved it:

wnt5\BXDIAG.INF=20,,1
wnt5\BXDIAGX.SYS=4,,1
wnt5\BXND.INF=20,,1
wnt5\BXND50X.SYS=4,,1
wnt5\BXND52X.SYS=4,,1
wnt5\BXNDCOX.DLL=2,,1

wnt5\BXVBD.INF=20,,1
wnt5\BXVBDX.SYS=4,,1

Clicked build on the main screen and let it do its thing. And the resulting cd finds the Broadcom BCM5708C NetXtreme II GigE on my Dell 1950, as well as the intel addon card we have in some of our servers.

I hope this info helps someone trying to build this disk for this server, or it might help you guys add this driver to the driver pack.

Thanks,

I have been trying the last few days to make a boot cd that will work on my dell 1950 Servers. The only thing i cant get working is the Drivers for the network card, which is a Broadcom BCM5708C NetXtreme II GigE Looking though the Driver packs, it appears that the driver support for this card Vanished sometime after "DriverPack LAN 8.05" Since it is the last pack to have it listed in its contents. Are there compatibility issues with this driver and other drivers? How can i download the older driver pack to add to UBCD4WIN so i can get this functional.

If i download the driver manually and stick it in the drivers folder, when i boot the cd the nic cards dont work unill i force a driver install on them. So i know it is the right driver, i just need to know what im doing wrong or how i can get this to work.
