Two separate Intel D925XCV systems, using two different model drives and different discs burned on 2x speed have the issue. Hardware tested with PC-Check 6.21, no faults found. RAM thoroughly tested with memtest86+ (7 passes). Using TDK discs, never had a problem before, never burned a single coaster.

Discs boot fine on Intel x38 (Asus P5E), Intel P35 (Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R), nVidia NForce 2 (Asus A7N8X-E), and VMWare 6.5.

Chipset plugin isn't used. As far as I know, isn't supported in Bart yet either.

Edit: Drives used in both problem machines are E-machines based. One is a burner, one only a reader. Both are junk. Swapped in my trusty NEC ND-3540 and it booted fine. Thank you for the help!
