what do you mean with : "Copied install.wim" ?
You need the whole DVD not just the "install.wim"

Looks like it cause it says :

Failed to load offline store from boot directory: '\\?\C:\Vista_Deploy\Mount\' and windows directory: '\\?\C:\Vista_Deploy\Mount\Windows\'

Ok, this is getting to be a pain...

Created new XP (Virtual PC)
Installed .Net 2.0 and MSXML
Installed WAIK 2.0
Copied Vista_tools and folders to C drive
Copied install.wim
Ran Vista_tools and get the following in the log.

I got 30+ GB on both drives... I'm not sure at all what is going on. I'm using an Open Lic version of Vista, so going to track down an OEM version and see if that is any different...

Dont put your folders on C:\ unless you have LOTS of space on C:\
And for Vista-Tool it doesnt matter where you put that.

Ok, tried putting everythign in a new folder (c:\VistaDeploy\) and the tool was still in C:\Vista-Tool

When I first started I had everyhting on my Data drive, but moved it all to C after reading some of this forum.

I know it is something really stupid I'm missing.

Use other folders for mount etc.

Example : D:\vistawork , D:\vistawork\Driversx86, D:\vistawork\mount

I have tried this on 2 Vista computers with the same results on both. I'm sure there is somethign simple I'm doing wrong...

Make sure waik is installed, and at the default location.

I'm still missing something...

When I try I get the same as above, The DOS box comes up, then stops and it doesnt appear that it did anything.

For testing I mounted the image (form CMD prompt), then opened up Vista-Tools. It showed the image as mounted and I Could then try to intergrate Drivers. Doing so gives me a new error...

PKGMGR.exe - Entry POint Not Found
The procedure entry point DriverStoreClose could not be located in the dynamic link library drvstore.dll

Any help would be great.

make sure you set the right image number.
Example: if you have made a ultimate only version, there is only one image, set vista-tool to image 1

Tried everything in this thread.
WAIK is installed, Vista tool is located on C:\Vista-tool, and set the path in Drivers.xml. Also I'm doing this under XP SP3.

I notice when I check Mount-RW and hit start the dosbox blinks up for a quick millisecond and closes, the status reads Done and below that Mounting. Is it done mounting? or am I not being patient enough? No files appear in the MOUNT directory.

Another thing, I unzipped all the 7z files for x64 and noticed this: (i cant explain this in words, so here is a pic)

Is this structure correct? Some of them are nested more than others?

I'm seeing the same issue, It appears that it is never mounting the Image.

I'm using Vista Business 32bit DVD (Open Lic)
Running Vista-Tools from C:\Vista-Tools
The PC I'm running this from is Vista 64 (But I have tried it on a Vista 32 with same results)
I do have WAIK (FYI, had to uninstall OPK tools to install WAIK). It is in the default dir.

Here is the error I get when trying to run, again from watching it, it doesnt appear it ever mounts the image.

Its simple. If you want to slipstream x64 drivers , you will have to add the path to your x64 driver folder in the "DRIVERS.XML" located in "vista-tools/bin" directory
eg. The default "DRIVERS.XML" is

I:\VistaWork\Vistax64Drivers

Open "DRIVERS.XML" with notepad and edit the "path" line
to werever your x64 drivers are located, example of my one

C:\Vistax64Drivers

Its pretty simple see.

x86 doesnt need this "trick"
