I belive there is a solution for this... at least it won't leave a mess... I think...

there is a command line switch for dpinst

/sa
Sets the suppressAddRemovePrograms flag to ON, which configures DPInst to suppress the addition of Add or Remove Programs entries that represent the driver packages and driver package groups that it installs.

it may be a good idea to add this switch if it just makes a mess in add remove programs...

moved to feature requests

As I've said in the other thread, things have been going fine for me, and for your information the entries in the ARP page are not the arranged the same way as they are when you install via jaws/snow. BASE seems to do things differently.

By example, I now have clear, separate entries for "Creative Audio Console" and "NVIDIA Drivers." Thanks again!

the dpinst tool will add drivers to add remove programs

so this would be true of wsnow jaws and SAD/SoFI

whether or not the uninstall works is dependent on the driver itself...

if you use DriverPacks BASE to add the DriverPacks to your installation you wont have this problem...

Drivers can always be removed from device manager

original forum » title
Other » Remove via add/remove programs

Is it normal that removing a driver via add/remove programs does appear to just remove the entry, but not the driver itself? because I've just removed my graphics card driver and the resolution still remains after a reboot, plus I've tested and I'd be able to play requiring games.

By the way, I've installed using jaws, so I'm not exactly sure if the entries are put in the same way as if with base, but what I've done is taken a picture of the add/remove programs page so you know if what I'm talking about is the same thing that you're talking about: http://img126.imageshack.us/my.php?imag … rt3gf5.jpg
