It seems that Intel does not any longer develop their WLAN drivers for Win2000. So I kept in \D\W\I5 the old Win2000 driver, version  03/13/2008,11.5.1.15 and replaced the WinXp version only. I hope, there are no side effects of this "operation". I tested this myself with WinXP and it worked as far I could see.
