Is this still an issue for you? I had the same issue, but it was resolved because of a 'removed generic driver'. Please let me know as I may be able to assist you.

Hi Overflow,

First, sorry for the long delay in coming back to you but I didn't have access to this laptop again until today.

I tried it without resealing the image with sysprep and simply imaging the completed setup and restoring it back to the laptop and I get the exact same error on the same device : Code 10 Can not start.

Hi OverFlow...

I'm not using RIS.
I am installing on a virtual machine and then imaging this VM after an unattended install of XP + several programs) with Acronis and restoring back.
I am using SysPrep though, but I don't use entries in sysprep files for drivers : I let the DevicePath entry in registry do its job which would be more or less the same than without SysPrep ?
If you want, I'll try to use without SysPrep (restoring an image right after the unattended setup has ended before having resealed the VM).

not a good presumtion... sysprep is subject to different limitations than windows so method is important to consider.
IE HWIDs can not be duplicated for sysprep - windows does not suffer from this limitation
therefore a duplicated HWID may be your issue and it would then also be method related...

I asked you to try it with normal driverpack integration to prove or disprove this theory since you have the hardware to do it.

I confirm the same issue as chud on a Latitude 120L : exact same symptoms.
Is this due to a HWID conflict with other INF files ?

Hi, no idea about 'normal' method as have no reason to use it.
This is about a sound issue rather than a method issue as ultimately they are doing the same thing in the PnP detection stages, at least as far as I know, (but I stand to be corrected.)
Anyway this has been an ongoing issue specific to Sigmatel drivers for over half a year with same problem, I think Jaak was looking into it as its a known issue people have reported in the past but as yet not heard anything else about it.
Its becoming abit of a major headache because appart from this everything else is on the whole working flawlessly on all other machines except Sigmatel HD audio ones.
Installing the driver from Dells site for example always works fine afterwards, but this defeats the object.

Does this issue occour if the DriverPacks are installed normaly from a CD / DVD?

PS you accidentally put this in the wrong forum (since RIS sysprep is not supported - technicaly) software is where most of the ris stuff is and "Other" is the correct place.

Hi guys,

have used latest (dev/test) sounds packs and is still getting a yellow exclam 'This device cannot start. (Code 10)' as have always had.
The driver versions its using is 5.10.5511.0

HDAUDIO\FUNC01&VEN_8384&DEV_7690&SUBYS_10280201&REV_1022\4&3474892&0&0001

KB888111 is installed, thi is same issue for any mahcine using Sigmatel audio.

In control panel is an icon 'IDT Audio Control Panel' and clicking this gives error
'IDT Audio driver is inaccesable.
Please make sure it is installed and enabled'
