Hi Jaak

Thanks for the tip on the Modem pack sometimes making the audio fail. I would have never thought of that and I do use the modem pack alot.

I think I saw a log posted here, and read it, and saw d\3\M\... etc, and that is why I mention modem.
The posts have been edited, and I rely on my poor braincells.

D\M\3\... is mass storage (folder 2 has a minipack sfx I forgot in it.) ((I think I will make that one live again.)).
D\3\M is third party modem
sound is D\S\..

3\M has sound drivers in it.
Modem sound often makes sound card install fail.

I don't know I am kind at a loss now... Do you have any log files at all? also what does the error say when DPFinsher quites?

Hi newsposter,

I think Jaak might have been talking to me about the modem pack I have been working with him on the nightly builds.

Now about your problem have you checked the MD5 Hashes to make sure they match? If they don't match I would clean your I.E. or Firefox cache and re-download them I have had to do this before.

Jaak, I'm not sure what you mean by that. I'm not using any 3rd party driver packs and all of the packs I am using are the 'official' release, no overnight builds.

quite a few of those modem drivers can have sound drivers in them.
I see you used 3rd party modem.

a few graphics drivers have some sound feature too.

I have run both of the sound test packs together with KTD and have not had this problem at all are you running the test packs? or the current releases? Also what problem are you having with Graphics B?

Yup, cleaned out Quickstream. This happens no matter if I use QS or not or what kind of finisher (runOnce, gui, etc) I use.

I'm thinking that when the CR drivers were 'consolidated' some weeks back a .ini file wasn't updated properly.

Additionally, it only happens with KTD enabled. I'm sure that many people run with KTD disabled and thus wouldn't run across this.

There may be similar problem with Graphics B as well.

Off to hunt the wiley buglets.....

Did you clean out the QuickStream Cache folder? I am not sure this is causing the problem but it would not hurt to try it.

I'm trying to integrate both SoundA and SoundB. All seems to go well until dp finisher gets to these directores.

Of course, they don't exist. But the finisher is looking for them, can't find them, and errors out.

I've downloaded fresh copies of SoundA, B, and dp_base with no relief.
