Please disregard my concern - I got it worked already. I included the chipset DriverPack in the slipstream. Although I've seen a recurring critical error when copying chipset INF files into $OEM$\$$\... directory (as performed by the DPs_Base.exe) when METHOD 1 is selected (is that a bug???), it still worked perfectly fine by using METHOD 2.

Now i'm trying to install other device drivers, i.e. fingerprint sensor, etc, while keeping my fingers crossed as my drivers are specifically intended for Vista and not for XP.

Hi,

I have this laptop with hw spec:

centrino duo t7300
SATA drive
GM965 chipset
Nvidia 8400 GS

This originally has a Vista OS. But I do have some applications that I need to run on XP so I bought new SATA drive (seagate) and install XP onto it. I am well aware that the core XP installation doesn't have support for SATA drive so I did some slipstreaming of SATA drivers into XP installer manually (as per instructions i got from the internet as well as on intel website). I was happy to see that my SATA drive was detected and was able to install XP. BUT after installation, right before the XP logon screen shows up, BSOD occurs.

Then I come across this DriverPack, made a clean xp installer again and slipstream latest MassStorage DriverPack I downloaded from this site but still got no joy - BSOD occurs right before the XP logon screen shows up. The BSOD was so fast for me as I cannot see the STOP message but I'm pretty sure it's a driver failure.

Can somebody help me out? Am I missing some points/configs to do? If you need further info, pls let me know. Thanks!
