Arrrggghhh!
I feel like an idiot.
When I turn the wireless 'on' with the button on the notebook the HWID changes to:
PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_0201&SUBSYS_68331462&REV_01\3&267A616A&0&70: 802.11g MiniPCI Wireless Network Adapter

Notice the DEV_ change?

Sigh...
going off for more testing. Remember to enable wireless before install!

Muiz,
I have access to the affected notebook for the next day or so.
The problem Ralink WLAN device has a HWID of:
PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_0200&SUBSYS_68321462&REV_01\3&267A616A&0&70: Network Controller

This is really odd because the official Averatec website link (first post) doesn't even have this HWID listed in any of the INF files.
What's really frustrating is that I can no longer get the drivers to load in either XP (32-bit) or Vista (32-bit) where I did it before (64-bit.)

Any ideas? I'm all ears.

I just took a look at the dlink website...wow, they haven't updated their drivers since 2005. No wonder you're looking elsewhere.
Since you've already verified that your hardware works with this driverpack, can you post your HWIDs so we can add them to the pack INF?

in 3dParty DP and don`t have originally supported hardware

Do you have the hardware to test any changes we make to the driverpack? I don't have access to that type of hardware.

I am unable to unpack the drivers wich are installshield.
Also installing these drivers and then grab them from programfiles is not possible , since i run Vista.

Maybe other team member can do this?
Or you , and then upload them or send to me.
