I just did that and put it in -S\SM\D\4
the reason I did it in a new folder was that the driver SYS files and DLL were different size compared to all the duplicates..

you can do that too
no need for that hotfix file, it is outdated, and replaced with 888111

Hi All,
Noob here so forgive me if I'm not supplying enough info but I just recently started using DP (which by the way is it just me or did the first time everyone read DP they took it for something else ). Anywho I'm thinking that the correct drivers for this particular SoundMAX card are not included in current sound pack B release. Yeah, probably a fairly bold statement and I'm most likely wrong but here is what I've come up with. I've manually downloaded the driver from Dell's site http://ftp.us.dell.com/audio/R132379.EXE and extracted it. Looking in through the ADIHdAud.inf file I find one of the 2 HWIDs
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_11D4&DEV_1983&SUBSYS_102801DA&REV_1004
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_11D4&DEV_1983&SUBSYS_102801DA
So I extracted the B pack and searched through all the files in the D\S\SM sub directories. I found 6 instances of ADIHdAud.inf but non of them contained either of the HWIDs. I also looked at the list of supported models and the 745 isn't listed under pack B. Oh I should probably mention that using pack B the SC is currently detected as "Microsoft UAA Function Driver for High Definition Audio - Adi 1983". I'm assuming the answer to this will be a resounding NO but is it possible to include my own drivers by simply extracting an existing pack, tossing the drivers into a new folder, and then compress it again?
